marquel lee ran a 4.6 flat 40 6-3 240 25 reps can get to the qb from inside or out.
    jordan evans 6-3 232 4.51 19 reps 4.18 20 yd. shuttle 7.01 3 cone 38-1/2 vert. 9-11 broad jump. very good in coverage.
gary thompson marshall 6- 1/2" 269 4.74 OLB/DE 26 reps. 4.49 20 yd. shuttle. 31 vert. 9-04 broad. 7.72 3 cone. could be a good UDFA pickup. we usually will send someone to marshall to take a look every year when most teams don't. 19.5 sacks 2 int. 1 for pick 6. 6 ff. 3 fr. 29 tfl many qb hurries. many passes batted down. one of the strongest guys on the team. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...3WWQJk&usg=AFQjCNHbe8kRWsHZq25AcY2UzDYSAPGbrA

gilbert only threw up 12 reps on the bench and ran a 4.68. 4.57 20 yd. shuttle.

I didn't like Marquel Lee's tape at all Mac. He had some nice testing numbers so I looked him up. What did you like about him?

I'll have to check out Evans though. Seems like an athletic type ILB, which is nice.

    I'd still be interested in
    Tanner Vallejo LB Boise St
    Conor McDermott T UCLA
Cameron Tom C Southern Miss - prob a UDFA but athletic and good clay for Munchak

he has good numbers. here are a couple more to look at. he was wakes leading tackler. nice size. very nice speed at 4.60. can play inside and come off the edge so he's versatile and can be moved around. strong. 291 tackles. 42 TFL 14.5 sacks in 3 years as mostly an ILB. nice tackler and doesn't just go for the big hit but wraps up and takes the legs away.

    what didn't you like turtle?

I thought if the ball carrier came to him, he was a strong tackler. For example, if he and the carrier met in the hole. But if he had to make a move or make a play in space he missed more often than not. It's tough for me to put into words. I watched him awhile ago and I'm just going off notes. I just don't have any faith that the NFL can make you a significantly better tackler these days. They can make improvements for sure, but I probably grade harsher than most on tackling. I don't even mind if the guy is a thumper as long as he gets the guy on the ground reliably. Yes the big hits are cool to see, but making a sure tackle for 2 yds short of the 1st on 3rd down is way better to me.

Why I liked Justin Simmons last year and Marcus Williams this year. Different positions, but you get what I'm saying. I don't think I watched more than 2 on Lee so I'll have to look some more I guess.

the 42 tackles for loss means he's not waiting for the guy to get to him. he can make plays behind the LOS. actually better numbers than a lot of the top inside backers. :smiley1::cool:

we'll have to disagree on this guy, I don't see the aggressiveness at all. Off balance a lot too.

I'm taking a look at Evans now and his demeanor I like for a 7th rounder. Just not real high on this year's ILB class overall.

Duke CB Breon Borders ran a 4.45 at pro day, 6.98 3 cone, 34 vert, and 10' broad. 5'11" 189. Late rounder who had a lot of picks. Liked what I saw when I watched Duke play this year. 34 pass defensed, and 12 INTs.

Not a need at all unless the team thinks he can be more of a runner, but FB Sam Rogers out of Virginia Tech is a helluva player. Catches the ball very well out of the backfield and at 5'10" 230 he can be that bruiser type on short yardage. I was watching some other guys at V Tech and he caught my eye so I had to watch some more on him. Probably not what they are looking for but I like those types of players.

James Conner 6' 2 " 233 knows how to play football and can catch.
Over achiever, will look great in black and gold. He will make some NFL team
glad they took him. Could even be asked to play OLB, which he did in HS and at Pitt
    occasionally his Freshman year.

    Ryan Switzer
    WR N. Carolina

Yes...he is small but tough as nails. Helluva punt returner as well. Could ultimately turn out to be great possession receiver like Wes Welker or Julian Edelman.
