Good read indeed. It'll be interesting to see how much we do use man coverage going forward.

    Long Live LeBeau!!! :herewego: :herewego:

God how I hope that article is accurate. I want to see a lot more man coverage going forward. I really hope it happens.

Well, it may depend on which team are we facing. It worked against NE 'cause they don't have a real deep threat.

Its on the internet...it has to be true doesn't? Really, the article makes sense and nothing but good came from its implementation. Seems we have the guys in place that could actually pull this off. We will see how it all unfolds as we play better receivers but I like our chances!

OMG... I hope this article is filled with facts. That article eases many concerns if it's true. Especially with this weeks ravens game missing our starting pass rush.

Nice read! Thanks for sharing. Definitely makes sense, I was questioning why Mcfadden wasnt seeing much playing time, but this article explains it. The information seems pretty legit, and  Dick LeBeau is a defensive genius.

    Very nice read...

Do you know how many things I have thrown over the past several years when I see our CB's line up 15 yards off the line of scrimmage in 3rd and 4? Dogs, kids, wives, beer bottles, chicken wing bones, etc. My wife finally bought me a foam brick and makes sure it stays close to me on game days...when I throw it...she even goes and gets it and brings it back before the next snap.

The zone coverage and bend dont break philosophy has worked vs some teams and is nice to see in certain situations....but the Brady's and Rodger's and Brees' of the league tear it apart consistently. Even Flacco and the Ravens implemented NE's gameplan and whipped us badly. It was so nice to see our CB's press and knock WR's off of their route before they even got started into their route!

I love LeBeau, but was starting to think this league has developed beyond his systems...so nice to see he can adapt...way to go LeBeau...I hope this article holds true!

LOL. I agree with almost all of this.

People who know me from the other board probably got tired of seeing my posts about that BS, soft zone, way off the receivers, "catch and chase" defense.

I knew Coach Lebeau knew better, so it was maddening that he kept doing it. I did not consider it was a personnel problem before.

And I'm also convinced that Carnell Lake has a hand in this too.

I agree that Lake has a hand in this. I've always had faith in DL (in DL we trust) but I, too, thought maybe his time was past. When I watch the secondary they seem much more comfortable playing the receivers tight. This has to be an ideal brought on by coaching (Lake). This last Sunday was the first time in ages that I wasn't yelling during a Steelers game. My kids watch with me and when something bad happens they hold their breath and watch what "crazy" dad is going to do. They commented on how relaxed I was. Was just a very enjoyable game for me despite the field goals.
