He keeps defying the odds but Id have to think this is his last year.

Hopefully he gets the Bus sendoff.

Glad to hear this ..... He'll be needed on the field in 17 but hopefully not in 18.

His locker room presence and practice habits and training habits and overall professionalism is most likely what secured the 2 yr deal.

His work ethic, attitude, and lead by example persona is worth $3.5 million for 2 years alone. He could never play another down and still be worth that contract!

nice. hopefully hes doesnt need to play much. not because i dont love the guy, but i hope they find his replacement this offseason. they need another young speed rusher to create problems for qbs. thats their biggest weakness. fix that and i bet they secondary looks a lot better.

I love it and he signed a team friendly contract, I hope we find a spot for him on our staff when he does hang them up. I think with this move an OLB is coming in the 1st 2 rounds, who better to learn from.

Kind of crazy how this guy went from being retired to playing quite possibly another 4 years.

I read today that only 4 defensive players played in their 40's, during the 2000's. Bruce Smith, Junior Seau, Darrell Green and someone else.

    Pretty elite company right their.

I think he will definitely be with the organization after he retires hence why he signed the team friendly contract. Crazy 3-4 years ago he was talking about hanging it up. He's that guy on the defense now. When they do the intros on defense he's the last one to come out.

Good signing. So we have Dupree, Chick and JH92 under contract. We aren't starved at the position but I'm still boiling the shoe leather. We need another FA and a draft pick.

I would not be surprised if they cut Moats. I was looking at our team salary and he is the 12th highest player on our team. It would be a very smart move we could free up 2.25 mil and only take a 633k hit.

i agree and have been saying that all along. the money for what production he has brought is not quite equal. ryan harris too may be in that boat.

970,834 of dead money for both combined. 3,179,166 cap room made if cut after june,1.

Yes you are right on both and if you want to throw another name in the mix I would think about Gay as well. I know this isn't popular with some here and yes while he has been very good since coming back I think father time may have caught up to him. jmo

i'd have to think golden and gay. that would free over 2 mil. more. that may be way too much to replace with the youngsters back there but i'd have to consider it. hopefully it wouldn't be for revis.

I will say this cutting gay is not a bad idea but will cost us 1.266 mil while freeing up 1.366mil not sure that is worth it. However we could use the post june 1 on him to save 2 mil while only costing us 633k. I know if it were up to me and this is JMO, after seeing how well both Artie and Davis played and one year experience under their belts I would move on from both Gay and Golden and try to add some more speed there. We can't count on Golson but anything we get from him is only a plus. Honestly if they let tese two go and brought in Revis for the slot I wouldn't be upset as long as we also draft a CB and S to take over and as back up.

The more I am thinking about it the more I like this idea. Revis would provide veteran leadership and maybe help this young group. It would also allow us to draft a CB later in the draft like a Hairston or Cutrer, both who I like a ton and need mentoring. jmo

im no coaching guru, but I thought a slot DB needed quickness. If that's the case, Revis is a bad fit there.

Or he can be physical and beat them up at the los... If no one signs Ross away I would move him to the slot put Artie on the #1 ans Revis on the #2 ..Shift more of the help to Burns side Revis can handle most #2 WR'S esp. with zone behid him...
