I think the chargers will keep Ingram. IF they let him walk I'm not sure if hes worth 12 mil a year. Also Landry jones will want more than 1 mil IMO and williams will want more than 1.8 mil.

I think the Chargers moving to a 4-3 Under base defense will leave Ingram without a position (with Bosa being the LEO).

If Landry Jones wants an NFL job, he'll take the 1 million. lol

Deangelo, i think, will take a discount to stay

Provided we do well in the draft, I'm fine with all the FA's in #2 walking as long as it frees up money for someone we really need..

I think they'll let Dwill go.
They'll attempt to sign Timmons on the cheap, don't know if they'll get a deal done.
Might attempt one splash singing but don't see two.
And I think they'll franchise Bell and then work out a long term deal before camp.

Timmons needs to go if they want him to cover. They would need to draft a faster inside LB. Tired of them making timmons have to run around and get burnt.

Trade AB for a edge rusher and a 1st. round pick...Take Jabril Peppers to play our SS/Big Nickle LB..Then draft Malik Hooker with our other 1st. rounder to play FS ....Then all we need is another outside CB so we can kick Ross inside to Gay's spot...I like the ideal of Trumane Johnson in FA that would work just fine... This Team would have a much better chance of beating the Pats than a Team with AB on it ...Coach B will take AB out of the game he had a hard time taking the Falcons D out until they got tired ...The Texans D also gave Brady fits..Our D would be like that then with good Safety play and the ability to actually play man and rush the passer ....

im not big on the idea of trading AB and i dont think they will, but if they did it would have to be for a sure thing edge rusher and and a high draft pick.

the thought of going into next season with Rogers, Ayers, Hamilton, Coats, Bryant, DHB and maybe Wheaton as your wr group isnt great. not gonna lie.

People that want to trade AB are :goofy:!

I do think we need to break tradition in free agency and make two splash signings, an edge rusher and a ball hawking corner. The window is closing and the time is NOW!

I really like Eli as you know and Bryant can be very good as well I think ...DHB still has the speed to get open he made some combative catches as Coach T would say , but him and Ben need more work on the deep ball together..I also think Hamilton and Ayers have bright futures if they get the practice work they need.. I really don't like Wheaton there are some Big WR'S projected to go later in the draft ...A later round guy I like is Travin Dural from LSU he is big and fast and played with some very poor QB'S ..

I agree. Timmons' case reminds me of Farrior's last few seasons - solid play in general, but every so often showing his lack of step as the years piled on.

I wouldn't mind if we let him go, but I suspect they'll hold on to him.

Agreed about Ingram. I think Williams should get 2-2.5 million a year cause on any other team he's most likely a starter. Plus he just had a two year contract for $4 million. Landry shouldn't get more than 1-1.2 million for two years at most. I think for our defense it's going to have to come in the draft. I don't see the Rooney's splurging in the free agent market. Although it would be awesome if we did go after some defensive free agents!

AB is arguably the best WR in the game. Is he a Diva? Yes, of course, but he is not the nuisance TO was and never will be. Trading AB is beyond ludicrous. He can't be replaced.

I'm not the 'scout' many of you are. However, I'm not in the Jabril Peppers camp. Jack of all trades...master of none.

Ben's window is closing fast. Time for the FO to make a run at #7. So I totally agree with the thread's author. Need to make a splash in FA. Tick tick tick....

We won't beat the Patriots with taller stronger WRs as some have claimed. We won't beat the Pats with Richard Sherman and Marcus Peters as our corners. Our scheme against the Pats is just plain idiotic and tortuous to watch. Until our dumba** coaches learn better, we will never never never beat the Pats with that stupid zone coverage. It fails every single time. Has anyone seen Brady's stats against the Steelers? He owns us. Press man coverage and heat on Golden Boy. ATL had it figured out - DEF just ran out of gas in the 4th. Plus the play calling by Shanahan was about as stupid as it gets.

Ok, that's why we signed Golson and Jones, ... Jones has had a welcome to the nfl couple of years but on the upside he has a good head, attitude, and willingness to be a team player, I say keep him, Golson is our ball hawking corner and shld be ready to go,

Re other threads: timmons is not easily replaceable so surprised to read about that he won't be around next year, he anchors our D and considering how young our D is , v needed veteran presence, I don't think there is really any talk of going to another team, I like that people are not running Landry Jones out of town, I think he throws well and I am a glass is half full kind of guy regarding Landry resigning, I think Matecavich will add depth LBS and see more than special teams, well see how it plays out,

I'd be open to keeping Timmons. Jarvis is as good as gone as far as I'm concerned. Why keep him on to remind the team of what a monumental bust he's been? Time to move on.

Good post, but you had me until #6 and #7. I just don't think they let Timmons walk, and I think the Steelers have the upper hand in negotiations. LT94 won't demand much. He just cashed in last year when his contract matured and he signs a team friendly deal this time. I don't mind Ricardo Mathews as much as some of you seem to despise him. He's a career back up and will be paid as such. Don't expect the production, just expect the treading of water. The guy's not going to come off the bench and be a sack artist.

As for FA, I would love the Steelers to sign Ingram and Johnson but I also buy powerball tickets. Hell I know Nick Perry is a pipe dream as he's Green Bay's most coveted defensive player imo. If the Chargers move to a 4-3 like you say (I didn't hear this as of yet) then he actually may be more available than Perry as the team is more willing to deal. So that would be a huge get and open up a ton in the draft. Does KC pull the trigger? Damn I hope so.

Timmons is the most easily replaceable starter on the team, his backup is a veteran, system experienced, who has had starter reps in the past.

Sometimes you just have to know it's the right time to move on. Could Timmons play another year or 2? Probably... but we have the luxury with Williams of not having to prove that.

I like VW but I don't see him as a direct replacement for LT. He may be the better downhill run stopper at this point but I don't think he can do the things Timmons is asked to do like drop/cover. Even though we hate to see it and cringe every time ,I don't see the philosophy changing too soon. LT is probably still the better athlete and Tomlins fave ,I see a very strong chance he's back.
I'm hoping K Williams can step up to replace DWill who seems to always have a injury creep up even with the limited use he gets....I want a back up RB who our coaches actually use....we don't need a two-headed monster but we need at least a 1.5.....

Timmons can can barely do those coverage things anymore, another year older is not going to change that. Don't buy the fountain of youth moments we saw this year, he's going to be 32 next year.

I do see the philosophy continuing to evolve.

I agree it's become more difficult for him and even more painful for us to watch but I still think if asked to do it he would still be better than VW.....now if you tell me we are gonna ask less and less of it from our ILBs then I agree because I think VW is probably better around the LOS at this point. Remember some of our blind loyalty though....LT is Mikes guy..
