Personally speaking I would take Brown and Sanders before Wallace. Brown especially. I like this young man. He is a very strong WR and has good hands, fast and willing to do whatever it takes to improve

I don't necessarily want Wallace to leave however I think from a business standpoint it would be more prudent to let Wallace go for the price he is going to command and lock up Brown

If they offer this deal, I would take it.

Wallace is fast, but he has one fatal flaw.....he can't catch.

Before the Steelers make a huge mistake and sign "hands of stone", if the price is right, then Bob Barker him to the Skins. He can't hurt us over there anyway, so we need picks, we really don't need Wallace. He is expendable.

Of course, you make this trade and you still have 3 very good WR's with two of them being very young. You could, ahem, bring Ward back for the minimum if need be. He can still catch which is more than I can say about Wallace. Right now, it is anybody's guess what Haley's new offense will look like, so it is not a real stretch.

Now the only drawback that I can see is that did they really get any value for Randle El? If they think they got their money's worth, then there is a possibility of them coming back to drink at the same well.

I like it and getting another first if that were the deal opens things up to trade that for some more picks, like 2 2's or 2 2's and one 3. We need bodies to replace the old tools in the shed.

Holy Crap! Jerry Rice talking about Mike Wallace like he's already a 49er. Tampering charges? if indeed the 49ers already offered him a contract.

I really do believe Wallace is done as a Steelers with all this talk on the Eve of F.A.

Rams looking to now trade their #6 Pick....

So many rumors! This is going to be crazy until draft day.,

    :eek!:

Can't catch? Hands of stone?? That's an...interesting point of view. If he can't catch, then why would we need to worry about him hurting us anywhere?

Yeah, I don't agree with the hands of stone comment but I think we have more pressing needs like OL. Would suck to be stuck with the niners 30th pick though. We won't get a game changing lineman that far down but may be able to package it with our #24 and move up. I'm still hoping for the rams at #6. DeCastro would still be available and that would be fair compensation for losing Wallace, imo.

The Redskins won't be going after Wallace after Roger Goodell took away 36 million in cap space from them this year for overspending in 2010 the uncapped year.

The skins are going to have their money wrapped up in there now, #2 pick, that cost them three 1st round picks. We will be willing to match what they have left to come up with for MW.

It's another team that can throw too much in the upfront that would cause Rooney to let go. Even with that, I think we keep Wallace and that gives us time for a long term deal. I do see his agent holding out for too much cash long term, which could be the real danger here, in that we save him now, only to lose him later.

I think we go through this w/ Brown next year and Sanders. We keep Brown.

Everyone understands the Skins cant make Wallace an offer right?

They only have the #2 pick which will be for RG3......I suppose they could mega deal Wallace and give up number two....but sure would make those other picks they gave to the Rams seem silly.

Look, he is not a possession type of receiver. He thrives on the long ball period. In case you missed it, look up Cliff Branch. Deep threat and that was about it.

Wallace has dropped more than his share of catchable balls and therefore to me, he can't catch. If you can't catch in traffic, then you aren't much of a wideout to me.

Wallace has shown that he can occassionally catch the long ball with no one near him, so that is why he could still be a threat.

Simple. He is fast with average hands for a WR. Will he score? Yep, but he is not the second coming of Jerry Rice.

Realize this is just my opinion and that opinion don't count for squat. The Steelers will eventually do what they feel is best for the entire organization. If they can get quality picks or bodies for Wallace, why not?

Seriously doubt it. According to schefter, the redskins are about to close WR deals with Josh Morgan, Pierre Garcon and possibly Eddie Royal. They don't have a 1st rounder to give up, so they'll sign Morgan and Garcon for sure. Wallace is out of the mix in Washington.

Vincent Jackson just set the bar, 5 years 55.55 million going to Tampa, wow. That's a lot of cash for a quitter.

Wallace biggest asset, next to stretching the field is that he draws double team, which leaves Brown one on one - a huge mismatch.

The skins can't take Wallace. He requires a first round pick. Skins got no 1st rounder till 2014

I know this. I was replying to the thread based on what if.....

That being said, although the skins don't have the first rounder, no telling what could happen to be worked out behind the scenes. Remember, everything is for sale. I did say everything. Now, what will it cost? The skins are desperate and stupid. Kind of like our government.

This was just a what if type of thing.

If thats true we know the outcome of this story. Its the Rooneys way or the highway.

Ask Randle El about big pay days and the Redskins. Does wallace want ALL the money or money and glory?

redskins doesn't have their original first round pick so they have to acquire another first better than what they had to make an offer to wallace
