Yeah it is for sure and what's even more crazy is that AZ also will owe Carson Palmer like 17.5 this year. That just seems astronomical for a guy his age that really hasn't produced when it matters the most. Since we're talking hypothetically though I also wouldn't mind to see him backing up Ben if he didn't have such a ridiculous price tag on him. If there was a way for Fitz to take a pay cut I'd welcome him with open arms. Then we'd have a genuine number 2 that could be counted on instead of an idiot like Bryant that you never know about from week to week. Also Fitz is a great possession guy that we also could count on since we don't know if Green is gonna have a concussion every other game as well.

If they become more of a distraction than they are worth, they are no longer key assets....

If it were possible I'd give up multiple draft picks this year to get Eric Berry. If we got him we'd be so immediately upgraded on defense that I think we could definitely get back to the promised land. The Chiefs have reached no deal with him and if they tag him again it will apparently blow their cap to smithereens. I'd like to see us actually make a splash in FA if we could to finally get this defense back to what it needs to be. Words can't describe how much I'd like to see a guy like him in the middle of the field as opposed to Mike Mitchell.

The biggest issue at this point is what Brown will ask for? Until his agent pumps out some numbers nobody really knows. He does have one year left on his contract. If he plays hard ball he is still under contract. Let him pout all he wants. Franchising Bell is a priority. They also have to start thinking about a deal with Tuitt. Their is no guarantee that we will be back next season and if we are the Cheats will be waiting there. And are they going to roll out the same Defensive game plan? Need to get a few more pieces on this Defense. And to strangle the cap with an over the top deal for Brown I don't want to see. So the long and short of it is he is here for another season regardless...

like i said, just hypothetical. to me though the biggest issue with this team was getting a consistent pass rush. take away AB and the offense still has weapons. Rogers really emerged. you have Bryant coming back. Ayers has potential and so does Hamilton. Jessie James is becoming Heath 2.0 and you have Bell that is basically a another wr when they want to use him that way. not even gonna count Green since his future is not clear.

AB does command a double team though and that is something that has to be accounted for when talking about trading him away. hes occupying 2 defenders. not sure at this point if any of their other wrs would do that. maybe Bryant because of his size.

the secondary struggles because opposing qbs have too much time in the pocket. until they can fix their pass rush we are gonna continue to see this team struggle on defense.
