Per Walter Football, Steelers have had interviews with Austin Calitro (lb) and Dmarius Travis (safety). Sure they've talked to a bunch of other guys, but usually you don't even se the steelers listed.

Calitro is an intriguing guy too. Slightly undersized IIRC but has the drive.

Got to learn to proofread. Either way, linebackers and safeties. Seems like their draft goals are pretty clear. May not be first or second round, but we'll find them somewhere

    Guess Obi was not interested.

Either way, Darrius English has shown some serious flashes. Should he do well in the game and combine, he is worthy of a look.

This is one of my favorite games because I have always felt if you can find a gem or two in rounds 3-6 your doing good. I haven't had a chance to look at any of these players and I will have to record the game which is good I can then stop and start at will. The last few days I have done some reading and some names that keep popping up or names that interest me are:

QB........Several here have nice size so I will watch to see who stands out

RB........McGuire and Mathers both are guys that sound like can fit our system.

    WR.......Yancey, Marks and Carr

OT.......Gennesy and Skipper.....read a lot of good news on Skipper

    OG.......Not really read much here

LB/Edge......Olugbode, Gilbert, Price, Dimick and Wise

S............McQuay III and Smithson lead the way here I have really liked what I have read on both. Thompson & Steelhammer(perfect name for a Steeler S)

CB...........Stribling & Myrick....to bad Cutrer is hurt wanted to see him

Just a few guys I will keep my eyes on.....

Trey Hendrickson (DE, Florida Atlantic) - By all accounts, Hendrickson had a strong week of practice, using his quickness and active hands to win nearly every rep, regardless of the tackle he was matched up against.

Tuesday was not a great day to be a quarterback. For the East, the quarterbacks took "sacks" (non-contact) and were pressured throughout team drills. FAU defensive end Trey Hendrickson and Florida defensive end Bryan Cox made their home state proud by consistently beating offensive linemen in team drills and in one-on-one settings.

Ejuan Price, James Harrison clone. Somebody will give him a chance late,
not ideal size (height) but he can get after the QB.

NFL Network last night said Fabian Moreau (CB), UCLA was clearly the best player and will be the 1st player taken out of this group.

There is a lot of players being talked about but the 2 players that I really want to see are Smithson and McQuay. I have not looked at either of these two on film but have read tons of good things. Also on the other side of the ball I am real interested in McGuire and Mathers, both have the hands we want in a RB.

Now one other thing I would like to see is if anyone agrees with. In this game we are talking about rounds 3-6 for draft pick. Yeah I know we drafted Davis in the 2nd but for the most part most guys are rounds 3-6. So I feel in round one we are going to be looking for a pass rusher and round 2 a CB/S. Yes I know things will change with how the draft falls but I am just looking at team needs and how some of the mocks I have read have us going.

So that leaves rounds 3 and below which is where a lot of these players we will watch are going to be drafted. It also leaves RB - TE - WR - QB(?) - Oline & ILB, not in that order as positions we should be looking, right? Of course a double dip at CB & pass rusher is not out of the question as well. I am a little tossed up on DL cause I feel these guys have played well and with the return of Heyward we should be fine there. However if a guy stands out I am not gonna be upset with a pick there.

So when you look at these positions of need I feel RB, WR and TE are all positions we need depth at so they probably aren't going to be addressed before round 4. So between rounds 2-4 I want top look at guys in this game that are CB, S, ILB and OLB. Of course I hill always keep my eyes open on everyone but I really want to pay attention to these 4 spots. Thoughts?

I read where Moreau had a pretty heated argument with one of the refs during practice. May be something to watch this game to see if that's a one time deal or something he can't control. I haven't watched any film on him yet, but I've read good things skills wise.

Smithson is probably the one I will key on if possible.

Tedric Thompson has some nice ball hawk numbers, but watched his game vs Michigan and he has some Gerald Holliman to him. Great vs the pass but very bad angles on run support and poor tackling. Only saw the one game though.

Understatement here lol but that was a tough game to watch for the skill players.

Anyway I thought these players had some good moments and I will have to look into further.

    Toledo TE Michael Roberts
    Louisville DT DeAngelo Brown
    FAU Trey Hendrickson
Jackson ST LB Javancy Jones (if he was #51) aggressive player I thought
    UCLA CB Fabian Moreau
    Samford WR Karel Hamilton

I didn't key on any offensive lineman unfortunately. Anyone see some other interesting prospects?

Ok so I finally got to watching this and here are a few guys I like and will start to look more into:

DeAngelo Brown (DT), Louisville......Early on had a very good goaline stand where he stood the center up and back. Also have a few other nice plays but he showed strength.

Elijah McGuire, Louisiana-Lafayette......Hate to compare him to Bell cause he has a long way to go but he ran kinda the same way where he sorta start and stopped. I liked this kid and right now he is projected at 5th-6th round and he would imo be a great pick in that range.

Wes Lunt, Illinois.........Not a whole lot out of this group but I felt Lunt had a good first half, threw a pick in the 2nd half I think but he did throw some nice ball. I feel this kid won't get drafted and if so what a great FA pick up. I really didn't like Torgenson.

Nate Hairston (CB), Temple..........Very impressive on special teams and always was around the ball. Again we are talking 5th - 7th rounder.

De'Veon Smith, Michigan.....Had a good game until a late fumble, again another late round FA type guy.

Kermit Whitfield, Florida State.........Very interesting kid, they tried and tried to get this kid the ball every way. They compared him to Ty Hill but really didn't have a whole lot of success. I want to look a little more at him as the way the NFL is going he could turn into a weapon, jmo.
