    http://video.nfl.com/films/2016/NFL...T/2/170115_BP_PENALTY_CHIEFS_735550_5000k.mp4

I decided to check out the Chief's message board just for fun and see what was being said. It's kind of funny reading through the different threads and seeing SO man of the same complaints I see here being echoed there. It seems that every fan base thinks they're the whipping boy of the NFL and the refs favor everyone else.

Here are a few choice quotes I found in that thread that made me chuckle. Keep in mind, the thread is 19 pages long at this point! It's pretty crazy.

Smells like the fix was in to me.

Trolls will defend that BS. But that was the most blatant favoritism I've ever seen.

It was clearly a hold, but that doesn't excuse the fact that Pitt got away with it the entire mother****ing game... and they weren't called for it ONE time

We tied tied the game despite a crap run defense and crap offense. The NFL decided it wanted Ben and Brady. It's that simple. Harrison had no chance to get Smith but they called it any way. There will be no chance unless we get marquee players. It not by happenstances they are on the teams in the big dance every year.

No. It was a **** call and you guys know it

    Refs got what they wanted

I was thinking about this some,,Even if they make that and tie it ,we drive it to FG range with no problems and win anyway..
They literally could not stop us between the 20's ,,we only stopped ourselves once we got in TD/redzone area ..
I had zero fear when i saw the 2 pointer converted ,,way too much time left ,,we win that game regardless of the OBVIOUS holding call.

I agree with this. 2+ minutes and did they 2 or 3 time outs at that point? Not getting into the endzone was frustrating, but I had total confidence they would go down the field and at the very least kick a FG for the win.

And the Chiefs were called for defensive holding how many times? But if Sean Davis tackled the receiver in the end zone on the conversion, then it shouldn't have been called. Makes perfect sense to me.

However, that 2pt conversion would have tied the game, with a little more than 2 minutes and KC kicking to the steelers, needing only a FG to win the game.

Agreed...strange as it may sound, I was actually more nervous about them converting the first down than I would have been marching down the field to win it.

If deebo doesn't get held...there is another strip sack for a fumble. We have seen it done time and time again. They had home field advantage and we get one good call for us and the refs cheated...really?! It should've been a blowout. They should be thanking Ben and the refs for even being in the game

Took the words right out of your puppies mouth - damn ruffs! Will be fodder for jokes for years to come - at least Seattle eventually came back and did something about it to chase the ghost. Time will tell about KC.

It`s not a hold when an o-lineman puts a choke hold around a defenders neck trying to get around him? I see this done on JH all the time, but it is not called every time, so the inconsistency leads to complaints.

It was a bad call. Harrison wasn't going to get to Smith on the play and slipped as much as he was held. Refs should swallow their whistles in the last couple of minutes of a game unless it is flagrant.

whether or not he was going to get to Smith is not relevant
I hate when the refs swallow the whistles at the end of a game and guys start getting mugged all over the field
Andy Reid used to cry about Trent Cole not getting those calls when he was with the Eagles

Harrison fell because of the choke hold bending him backward and Fisher's weight on him. Smith didn't release the ball until after Harrison was on the ground with Fisher on top of him.

Refs should NEVER swallow their whistles. If it's a penalty in the first quarter, it's a penalty on the last play of the game. Yeah, nobody wants to see a game decided by a flag. But a penalty is a penalty. Period.

The shocking thing wasn't KC getting a penalty on what could have tied the game. It's that they FINALLY called a choke hold on Harrison. I must have seen that 1000 times without a call.

In the end, you can never look at one play and say "That's why we lost." KC missed many an opportunity out there to win way before that play. And they had a chance even after it. If Reid had any cajones and onside kicked it, maybe they win. If their D can make one stop, they get the ball back and probably get a FG try.

KC made the Steelers punt only once the whole game. FGs or no, if you just never stop a team - ever, don't expect to win.

The sad part is if you go back in time and look at Harrison when he was younger and was a the main part of our D this happened to him all the time........ALL THE TIME and never got called. Because og how low JH gets and how fast he is he use to always get this done to him and very rarely got the call and we all use to ***** about it.

The bottom line is this this was a hold plain and simple but the officiating in this league stinks. Look at the Cowpie game, Adams jersey was hanging off and they don't throw a flag for PI or holding. Then in our game Davis just barely touched the guy and was called for PI......bad bad bad! Heck in the pregame it was even brought up about the Ref's for the superbowl come from this round and the announcer(not sure who it was) joked well judging from what we saw this weekend I guess these are your superbowl ref's in this game.

Bottom line arm around the neck = HOLDING........plain and simple!

I keep reading 2 things on several fans forums

    1. That kc hold was bogus(yet sensible fans on those sites say it was legit)

    2. Our line is always holding lol

The call was like 3 years in the making. That happens to deebo on almost every pass rush and is rarely called. I can see from a KC fans perspective, I'd be kind of mad too but they needed 3 penalties just to see the endzone. Harrison definitely gets to Smith if not held. Also, Harrison never falls on those and I don't see him flopping with the game on the line. Being as sensible as I can be, I think it was the right call.

And this is what has been on sports radio here in KC all week. It's classic, on Monday, each host of three different shows says "I don't want to complain about refs, but............." Very little credit given to how much the Steelers dominated the game and were the better team. It was either (1) the refs of (2) Alex Smith sucks. They were still talking about the damn refs on my way in to work this morning.

I loved the post from this guy:

Sadly, he seemed to get ignored.

I guess any time a refs decision is key to the end of a game, fans are going to ***** about it, and the NFL Network are going to run it again a million times because now the Cowboys are out they have nothing else to talk about.

How do you think bucs fans felt after the raiders set a new NFL penalty record with 23 then won the game in OT, teams have to persevere through penalties not complain about them, just stay focused to win games.....
