Well, we always hear about letdowns from teams after an emotional game like the Steelers just had. However, they have the Ratbirds coming in, so their emotions will be at a peak again. Just wondering, do you guys think it's a good thing to have 2 highly emotional games back to back? Gonna help or hurt us?

Then after that, it's Cincy, which is going to have more meaning than we all expected at the beginning of the year. Tough stretch going into the bye.

It's hard to guess what affect it will have, and I've seen it play out both ways. I would just hope that the game against the Pats gave them some cold hard confidence but at the same time, without making them too comfortable and/or over confident with the upcoming game against Baltimore.

If they don't come out fired up for this one they should all be fired, players, staff, janitors, everyone.

We seem to play our best at times like this. I remember our most recent SB winning team, we had by far the hardest schedule in the league. We had one tough game after another and everyone kept counting us out, that is until we won the Superbowl. So I say keep bringing us good teams and we'll keep winning the majority of games, because that's what the Steelers do.

I'm thinking that the post season is one emotional game after another. I realize this isn't the post season but if we can't handle emotion during the regular season what makes us think that we can handle it then? Just some food for thought...speaking of food!

I think in this case, since we are so beat up, I think it is a negative. There could be further injuries this involving the two best defenses in the league.

The Patriots then two big divisional games without any recovery time. I think we will win them both but be at a price.

I think they will be alright. The Pats game was a high emotion leading up to the game, however by the end of the first quarter the Steelers were up by two scores. The Pats were never within one score until the 4th quarter. The game itself was not any more emotionally stressful than any other victory. (excluding blowouts) The Ravens are coming to Pittsburgh, the Steelers WILL be ready. :herewego: :herewego: :herewego:

I think this has the potential to hurt more than help and here is why.

The Steelers are back in the conversation again. They are on Sportscenter and the NFL network. The talking hacks on these channels are again extolling the virtues of the Steelers and I can hear the pat on the backs from way down here in South Carolina.

You know, reading the newpapers. Seeing your name in print only in a positive spin this time.

I am very wary that the Steelers feel everything is hunky-dory and given the fact that the Ravens are not playing well, think that because they are at home, this will be an easy W.

So, all the gushing about the Steelers at this point is simply what have you done for me lately. They played a great game Sunday. Great, no don't let it go to your head...

I think Tomlin will have the team focused. I think they will all remember the opening day debacle and play with a chip on their shoulders. As far as beating the Pats and getting that monkey off their backs and not letting that sense of mission accomplished affect their play, I believe the message of the weeks should be to quote Joey Porter

    "Yeah, So? What?"

They won a game, it is done now on to the next opponent.

The way our offense is playing and the way the ratbirds offense is playing, we should win this game by 14.

If anything, I think it's a positive, but I don't think it has that much of an impact on the Ravens game. The emotion last week was nothing compared to this week, so I don't see that as an issue. Everyone on this team hates the Ravens and has been dying for the chance to redeem week 1's loss at home. The main issue affecting the Ravens game is injuries, but that's a different discussion.
