This is making me worried, think this is worse for us and will neutralize our offense. Ben also will be wearing gloves which doesn't seem to go too well when he does, IIRC. They will be keying on Bell and forcing us to pass, they are very good at taking the football away.

Only bright spot is the Steelers are undefeated in primetime this year.

The game was moved. The weather should not be issue but It would probably hurt steelers more.

I believe- and I believe that history backs me up here- that any time a game is played in bad weather it favors the home team. So, if they move the game to avoid the bad weather, then that is a good thing.

Have you seen Ben's record in the cold/bad weather? Ben is a mudder, Alex Smith is not. It hurts them more

History may back you up, but remember, a lot of that history would be a visiting team from a dome or hot weather visiting a cold weather team. That will skew the stats. Take only teams from cold weather cities and that have outdoor stadiums and then compare the home team vs road team record. Remember, the home team is always going to have the advantage anyway, but my guess is nasty weather doesn't give the home team any extra advantage when playing another team used to the cold weather.

This. Smith has been less effective in temps below 40 than above, both in terms of wins/losses and key stats. Also, Bell runs well in bad conditions. I feel better about this game with the forecasted conditions than if it were 45 and sunny.

No matter if its bad or good weather...
Pittsburgh will beat kc...you heard it here first....well, not first, but I'm putting money on it. Three more wins and we're Superbowl champs. It won't be easy because its never easy for the Steelers, but its achievable

Weather helps the Steelers. Both teams have to play in it. Home field advantage comes from crowd noise. Terrible weather equals less noise, IMHO. Some fans might not show up. Others will not be on the stands trying to get warm and dry.

Shazier will be there with no shirt. Will be cold on KC's sideline.

Plus, night game means no sun/shade. There will be no advantage to the home team at night.

Ben is 21-7 in 32 degrees or less. This game is on bell. We need to ride his wheels off

As I stated, I am more worried about Kansas City's Red Zone Defense than anything else at this point.

Pounding the rock will not be much of an issue for us. Converting those goal line situations will be.

Im going the opposite direction as you. Getting nervous, hopefully the weather forecast is right and it won't be sleeting during the game. I did see someone say the field is heated so thats good. AB needs to be able to get in and out of his cuts, cant do that on ice.

I don't know, I think high flying offenses suffer more in bad weather, if its just cold, I dont care, Im not talking about that, I just dont want sleet, rain and wind.

As in most cases the running game will be a huge key if the weather is that bad ...KC might stack the box and run blitz a lot ..If they do Ben will need to be able to lob a few balls over the top to get some players out of the box..

My worry is more based on us being out of schedule cause we are the road team. It will be a lot easier for the home to get comfortable since they are home. They did just mention that Dee Ford was getting a anxious and now has to wait. I feel there is a lot of pressure on KC being the home team and a small favorite and us kicking the snot out of them earlier.

As for the playing conditions I think we have so many more play makers that it will be easier for us to move the ball. I think in bad conditions it takes the speed element out of it so the Chiefs big play guy Hill may not be a factor as much but Smith being mobile has me worried. So if this becomes a short pass run happy game I feel that is right up out alley.

I love how Butler addressed the Defense this week saying remember how pissed you guys were last week vs the Dolphins after they tore us up the last time we met, well that is the feeling KC is having this week. I liked hearing that a lot.

I noticed Bell seems to be better on a slightly slippery field.

He seems to run like a car with snow tires while everyone else has just all years on.

I'm thinking it will resemble the Bills game in many ways, with Bell grinding them down while our defense makes them one dimensional.

As I said in a previous thread, I believe it helps KC, I hope I am terribly wrong.

If we shut down T. Hill and if Ben doesn't throw any stupid interceptions we will win!

It hurts steelernation the most. Just think...your travel plans have been altered and the cost just went up because you didn't plan on staying an extra night. Do they stay and cancel flights back home at 4,5,6pm and hope that their a flight leaving at 1a in the morning or leave? Leaving the majority of the stadium empty.
