This. We torched Kansas D. Torched Dallas D. Seattle got walloped 38 by Green Bay. Giants got crushed 38 points by gb. Vikings gave up 38 to gb, (stop it Rodgers lol) Texans gave up 31 to Vikings, pats 31 to hawks.

Those are the top D's. nobody consistently holds teams to under 300 yards and 15 points lol

If only opposing teams would underestimate our defense too. Sadly, they will be more up to speed than the savvy media.

Not that it is going to make much difference, I think with the defense playing the way it is now along with an offense that puts up 30 points a game, will be more than enough to lead them to their 7th trophy.

I agree on the scheme as it was painfully passive early on but I believe the real difference is personnel - Harrison and Dupree (no OLB rotation), Davis moving to S full time (simplifying his preparation), and Burns getting his feet under him. Timmons has seemed to elevate his game - maybe due to scheme?

Seattle was when they won the SB , also Denver last season was dominant.

I thought Heyward going out would have been a bit hit but since him being out and Harrison starting the D has looked much better

It seems to me that the Steelers started blitzing more when Heyward went down, whereas before they seemed to rely more on their front three to bring pressure.

Think it has more to do with Burns and Davis progression and trusting them more to handle things back there when they blitz.

That helps, but Heyward played in that game and won't be there Sunday. He was absolutely dominant against the Chiefs the first time around.

So was Javon in spite of the stat sheet.

With him, LT Walton coming along and Bud Dupree transforming into a star, this game is no doubt going to be close but I do think Pittsburgh can come out on top if the execution and fundementals are sound.

All the more reason I stated our other "Big Three" (Burns, Davis, and Hargrave) are just as important as the Killer Bs.

Whether fellow fans accept/like it or not, those three are truly a major factor as to why Pittsburgh's has resurrected into the pseudo form of the "Renegade" defenses of the 2000s.

Here is more evidence to support that claim for each of them.

    - Javon Hargrave has gotten considerably better and has been the unheralded linchpin for the team. Losing Heyward hurt big time but since the Cleveland game, him and Tuitt have performed exceptionally well; LT Walton's development adding much needed depth.

    - Since Sean Davis started against Cleveland, Pittsburgh has gone 8-0 and Pittsburgh has given up less then 75 receiving yards to tight ends.

    - Since the Cleveland game, Artie has not yielded a 100 yard receiver ( I do not count either OBJ or Jarvis Landry's stats as those are garbage time and did not alter the game). In addition, he has yet to surrender a touchdown when opposing wide receivers are on his side since.

All these factors in addition to the return of Dupree and the improved play of Tuitt have helped this team far more times than some people give it credit for; the season saving goal line stands against Baltimore being the high point.

Again, this game will not be easy by any means. However, if Pittsburgh has to win this game the "Steeler Way", so be it. Should Ben play as he has been against the likes of Miami and Baltimore, Le'Veon Bell, the "Munch Bunch", and the defense will have to win it for us.

their D is getting talked about more and more with each win. 8 in a row. just think how much they will be talking about them after they win 11 in a row.

right now most people are focusing on the "killer B's" all playing together in the playoffs for the first time.
