Great idea. I merged the similar threads into the one you started and renamed it. It didn't quite turn out how I would have liked, but nothing usually does...carry on. :)

i like nix and think he could be a good pickup. shoulder trouble in the past though is a concern, but if it checks out he wouldn't be a bad guy to have on your team. glenn still amazes me at his size, not that the 40 means alot for o-linemen, but it tells you he can move for a big guy. 4.96 thats pretty impressive even if ya don't like the guy it's kind of freak like. he's a thick boy.

Steelers have scheduled an interview with Alabama LB Dont'a Hightower. He already talked with LB coach Keith Butler.

    Nice!

He's not my preferred choice but I'd be very happy with another "Big Thumper" at one of our ILB spots. Seems like a very safe pick, if unspectacular. As much as our offense needs help, I'd be happy going defense two years in a row in the first.

They always like the local guys but never get a shot. This year maybe the exception.

think they like Nix if he's there later

I like Martin. I think the beefy NT will be a thing of the past pretty soon. More teams pass the ball the then have a power running game. Hoke was about the same size as Martin is and the Steelers were like 18-1 with Hoke as a starting NT. (not saying he was better than casey, but he wasnt a slug either)

I think as strong as Martin is and how quick he is will help him. Again, just my opinion but everything evolves or under goes change. The 3-4 now and the 3-4 of the early 90's face different offenses. The 3-4 will evolve with so many teams relying on the passing game, the Hampton / Rodgers/ Wilfork s may be replaced with a little more agile players.

    Hilarious!

That's intriguing. Wonder how he looked in field play out there in the MAC? Would be great to get an OG flying under the radar that would be a fit.

he was a 4 year starter. he played LT,RG and mostly LG. he's always been ranked fairly high. top 10 guard, and several have him as a top 5 guard. a few of his numbers would have been best at the combine. i'd rather us get a guy closer to the 315-320 range. mobility seems to be there though.

Yea, get a guy that can move for the pass rush. Throw in Ben's style and we definitely need movers.

    Thanks for the info.
