Him and Burns could turn out to be the steals of the draft. Thank goodness for the William Jackson smoke screen.

Very impressed with this draft class. First time since 1974 for the Steelers to start 3 rookies on defense. Remember the studs in that draft class? Let's hope Burns Davis and Hargrave keep improving to be great! Well deserved!

He seemed to really turn the corner when buckling down on the safety spot. Kudos to Lake, Butler or Tomlin for that call. We needed that other safety spot to come through by someone.

.......and some wanted Billings in the 1st.........lmao! On a serious note these rookies have played so well. I like what I saw in Davis in the Shrine game but never thought he would be a 2nd rounder. I am so glad Burns is playing well also there was a lot of pressure on him being a 1st rounder when most didn't have him going in the 1st. Love the way all this class have played, a draft like this is just what we needed.

On a side note not to hijack this thread but the last 2 years the Shrine game had a few players that stood out. Chick 2 years ago and Davis last year and they are both on this team. I think there ar a few others on out team that have played in the game, Walton I know for sure. I remember Ochi had a big game last year and we didn't draft him but he was a lot like Chick. I think we better pay close attention to this years game.....

Well... I guess this is a bit awkward for the "Lake can't coach" crowd.

I never said they where bust..I stated I don't think Burns is a true #1 CB and I didn't think Davis was a true Safety....I still believe this ...Both are doing better than I thought and I am glad they are ...I liked other guys better than these 2 and I still think those other players are better than Burns and Davis...

Hey you know what's weird? Senquez Golson is still a thing. We haven't talked about him or heard about him for a while now. Is he still injured, progressing at all?

He was put on IR October 8, 2016, with a lisfranc injury. No word since, AFAIK.

Indeed. I was certain that Sean would be an asset to the team had he played safety akin to what we saw in Maryland. Issue was, due to injuries for the Terrapins, he had no choice but to play said role; decreasing his draft stock.

It also did not help that Senquez Golson went down either; Davis picking up two different positions and playing them as a result. Now that he is currently playing his main role and focusing on such, Davis is turning out to be one of the best safeties from this draft class. In addition, it will not surprise me should Davis turn out to be the best one from this class in spite of Keanu Neal's ability to "Seek and Destroy" for key turnovers or Vonn Bell's ability to be in the right place at the right time.

Loved those three on draft day and believe they are the class to bring an elite D here again. Window is open while Ben is here...
