Most Hated Steelers

Three Steelers you hate (d) and why:

1. O'Donnell. Not only does he cost us a SB. He than signs with the Jets.

2. Scobie: We probably get a bye without some of his misses..especially Baltimore...last season.

3. Kordell aka "slash" Stewart. Never liked his attitude...

 

Mean Joe Greene, Franco Harris, and Troy Polamalu.

 

Forgot to add Ben and Hines Ward as honorable mentions

 

I would say Doug Dieken did not like Joe Greene. Keith Rivers did not like Hines Ward. The whole Raiders secondary did not like Lynn Swann. Jeremy Stevens did not like Joey Porter. I would imagine the Steelers scout team did not like Greg Lloyd. Cliff Harris did not like Jack Lambert. Brian Urlacher did not like Jerome Bettis.

 

I don't hate any of the Steelers.

I got pissed at the Steelers front office when Harris, Merriweather, O'Donnell, Woodson, Nickerson, Searcy, Chad Brown, Lake, Thigpen, Wallace, Emmanuel Sanders, etc... left in Free Agency.

I know this is blasphemy here... but I thought Kordell Stewart was a good QB in '97 and '01. He accomplished more those years than most starting QBs do in their entire careers: Two conference championship appearances.

 

Let me rephrase: Most hated Steelers by you...the fan!!

 

People will remember his untimely "mistakes" more than anything else.

 

Sorry, I guess I have ravenitis, which means I can't read because my brain is foggy. I am going to have to go with Neil O'Donnell/WR for the second INT to Larry Brown in Super XXX. And Touissant for his fumble last year against Denver. and definitely Josh Scobee.

There has never been a Steelers player I hated. There are some I rate above others. I'm a fan.

IMHO this is a bad post meant to get attention. We get a lot of these.

I have met 5 people in my life who I honestly disliked. I do not hate any of them.

I dislike Neil O'donnel....sure the Super Bowl appearance was costly....but then he not only signs with the Jets...but says he feels that they have a better chance at winning and were on the rise..... You were in the Super Bowl 1 month ago...and you think the Jets are the team to beat? It was all about money..and I have no problem with that...but just say that... He could have stuck around..and maybe gotten back to and won a Super Bowl in Pitt. He could have become an ICON in the Steel City......but instead he became a forgotten QB in NY who most Jets fans consider a bust. Bottom line he had more talent to make him look good in Pitt.

I loved Kordell. I still think he could have been a VERY GOOD QB. I still think Kevin Gilbride ruined him. He tried to turn him into something he was not...a pure pocket passer.....Kordell was at his best when he was a threat from anywhere on the field....Once Gilbride challenged him to stay in the pocket ....his career was virtually over.

There are players I've disliked *cough* Mark Malone. But there's only one that could fall into the hate category and that's "He whose name shall not be mentioned" from SB XXX!

 

I know of fans who hated Ben. I always saw it as he was guilty, guilty of having consensual sex with $100million in the bank.

 

Anthony Smith is close to being a "hated" player. I LOVED kordell stewart. Him and bussy were my favorites as a kid.

 

Grew up loving Kordell. Don't like David Johnson. Didn't like Mendy. Didn't like Anthony Smith. Kemo. Not a huge fan of Mitchell but he is playing somewhat better now. Also didn't like Plaxico and Mike Wallace. Mike Wallace would probably be the guy I like the least right beside of Mendy.

 

Man when I was a kid I vehemently defended him. Now that I'm older and have watched those games more it was just some atrocious picks. There's an NFL Films episode where Rod Woodson is on the sidelines during that game and he says to Kirkland, I think, "two interceptions". As in "that's why we lost this game".
