Atlanta is no joke. That's the only team in the NFC I'd be really nervous about playing in the SB. Maybe the Packers on a huge winning streak.

Just the way the DL lines up. The ends get really wide. They do this so they can get their speed rushers and advantage on the edge and maybe spread the OL out a little bit to give their blitzing LB's and S's bigger rushing lanes.

Idk why we can't stop it. Not many teams run it that frequently, maybe that has something to do with it?

Not to sound ignorant, but I don't really care who we face in the playoffs if we want to consider ourselves SB champions. I don't believe in being "scared" of a certain team this time of year, or wishing for a weaker team with a backup QB just to make the road to seven an easier one. Bring on the challengers - it's win or go home.

To simplify things: If the good Ben shows up we win. If the bad Ben shows up we lose.

While I agree with the sentiment of what you're saying, and would love to see the Steelers beat any given team, the fact is that some teams match up better against certain teams than others. The Steelers may very well be able to beat a team that other teams struggle with, but then they might have trouble against a team that others are beating more easily. Hoping for more favorable match ups isn't a bad thing.

The last few games doesn't bear that out particularly, but certainly could do with Ben back at his a-game.

Whats crazy to me is the steelers won big games down the stretch run with ben making 2-3 turnovers a game. Usually he does that and they get blown out of the water. Really a testament to the defense playing well. Since week 11 the steelers D is top 10 in just about every defensive category. If Big Ben gets on a hot streak in the playoffs this team could beat the patriots.

since week 11 we are #2 in points allowed with 16ppg for the top 5 ranked teams in NFL. pats are first with 12ppg. I think our rushing is like #1 or something

Pats and Cowboys aren't guaranteed. The Giants have already beaten Dallas twice.

I give the patriots an asterik lol. Their schedule is so favorable. If Landry put up 17 pts on them then Ben should double that.

Schedule will probably come out Monday. Nothing gets announced until the regular season ends.

The Steelers are playing much better than they were at the time of the game in Miami. Also, Roethlisberger got hurt during that game and he was terrible when he returned to the contest, at least in part due to the injury.

The Pittsburgh offense has been much better at home. It also looks like the Steelers will have Green, who they did not have the first time against Miami.

The Steelers also caught the Dolphins one of the rare times this season that their offensive line was intact. That won't be the case in the playoffs because Mike Pouncey is on IR. While Miami is weaker on offense, Pittsburgh's defense has changed since that game. Davis and Burns have made them more athletic in the secondary. Hargrave continues to improve. Tuitt should be back.

Of course, Miami could win the game (assuming that is the wild card matchup). The Dolphins are very good. I'm just saying they didn't see the current Steelers team that day.

Do your stats take into consideration that Carr and Tannehill are both out.

Exactly this cancels out any stats prior to them going out. Miami is down their center too. I think it will be two very winnable games. The patriots will not be but they dont scare me. It'd only be right for the steelers to have to take out the patriots to go to the superbowl. Without having to face them feels a bit cheap.

There is nothing cheap about a trip to the Super Bowl, whether it goes through New England or not.

The good Ben will have to show up for entire games in the playoffs, not just a half here and there. If he plays like he played against the Ravens the Pats will kick our butts. He needs to make good decisions all game long.
