Caught a snippet on ESPN this morning with Plaxico saying that he would really be interested in rejoining the Steelers and saying he would love to catch passes from Roethlisberger again.
The Steelers have more pressing needs for sure but I wanted to get fans thoughts on this.
Did he straighten up enough after shooting himself and spending time in the slammer to have Dan and Art welcome him back?
Would he be benificial to Haleys type of offense?
Can he still play at a decent level and most of all put in the work ethic necessary for another Championship?
Is it all smoke and mirrors anyways cause there is no cap room?
    Thoughts?

Don't think he'd sign for the vet minimum. I know he's a jerk, and he jerked us around once, but he is a serious red-zone threat we really don't have.

Yeah I keep hearing he wants to go to Philly... I think he could help out redzone offense out big time... but he's not worth a roster spot for just that.

If he could be had for about 3 mill I would bring him in. Wallace is gone more than likely and Ward is gone. Emannuel needs to stay healthy to complent Brown and Coth going forward.

No thanks to Plex a guy who has proven himself, but bring Sweed to camp a guy who hasn't done squat? Awesome!

haha. the sweed talk just makes me laugh. then sigh. then shake my head in disbelief.

    then laugh again.

it's almost as funny as all of the 'screw what only the second good qb in our franchise's nearly 80-year history wants! let's hire a jerk and put him in his place! if he doesn't like it, trade him!' laugh, sigh, shake head, laugh . . . repeat.

ben is our star. ben wants tall wr's. i guess i need to clarify: ben needs GOOD tall wr's. ben likes plax. they only played together for, what, a year? and they were in sync that year. they played well together. i believe plax has been humbled. i think he would fill a need role here. ben needs a red zone target. ben likes tall receivers. ben likes plax . . . this makes a hell of a lot more sense than five unbelievable pages of limas sweed/tiger beat worship.

He's just using the Steelers again to get a contract from another team. The Steelers should tell him to take a hike.

The response to him should be "HUH? WHAT? HUH?". We have a red zone threat they just wont use em, start with Heath and see what happens.

If we let Hines go and then picked Plax back up I would be sending the Rooney's a very sternly worded letter. Plax is a crybaby and I didn't like him ever so he can just shut up and go join his cellmate mike vick in philly.

really? who is our 'red zone' threat? this always amuses me when everyone throws out the blanket statement about how great our scoring offense should be in the red zone with all of our 'weapons.' (alwyas during a rant about how worthless BA is/was)

i've yet to have anyone provide any sound argument when i rattle off the fact that we have an o-line that gets no push leaving our short-yardage game anemic in the red zone, a starting rb (mendy) that is ineffective inside the red zone (because he runs upright, dances & spins, and doesn't get much YAC), a qb who doesn't throw well in tight spaces, can't throw the back-shoulder throw, a bunch of slot receivers or burners (no real chain-movers unless we're playing with a long field), and a tight end who is anything but athletic and quick. that's my take. would love to hear the counter-argument.

Well if he signed last season Coth would not of been here an Brown and Sanders playing time would have been diminshed. Wallace is gone, ward is also. We stand at just Sanders and Brown with cothery witing to be signed so that means 3 under contract Ben best season came with him as his guy, even if he was the 3rd/4th wr pure redzone guy he would easly catch 10 to 12 tds passes. We are gonna sign a vet and draft another just to have 5 with the kid from penn state taking over battle role on St.

maybe other teams think wallace IS that good. he IS a deep threat playing with a qb who can't throw the deep ball.

imagine him running flys for the pats as gronk, hernandez, and welker ran slants, hooks, and outs. that is a HUGE need for the pats and they would only have to surrender the 31st pick. he would be a perfect fit in foxboro. i think it makes all the sense in the world for them.

Ok and put vincent jackson in that same situation. Just as deadly and you keep your pick. There are a few other big impacy wrs out there also.

Dude, you can't use the word "vagina" on this board. Actually, it was used once or twice in the past  , but not right after the word "sucking" . Makes all the difference in the world.
