Pete Carroll

Say what you want about (your coach here) but, I'm convinced that Carroll is the dumbest coach in the NFL. Of course, the stupid decision to pass in the SB but now, he burns through 3 challenges in the first 18 minutes of a game that the Cheathawks should win easily? Wow!

 

Not a Carroll fan. He's that friend you had when you were a teenager who was kinda cool for a few minutes but then really starts getting under everybody's skin when you have to hang out with him for more than half an hour.

 

Well, I thought this thread was going to be about the stupidity to run a fake punt, up 21, with 5:00 left...that nearly gets the punter killed.

Indeed, Carroll is an idiot.

 

I think the only reason he even came back to the NFL is because of all the shady stuff he pulled at USC and he saw the writing on the wall that he was about to get busted. I think he's a scumbag for sure. He just strikes me like some dope smoking, Deadhead, hippie moron.

 

That was at least a funny play though. Dude got laid out for sure.

He won 2 of them, so not sure how it was a bad decision. He should have won all 3, no clue how the 3rd wasn't overturned as well. If the refs had made the right call he wouldn't have needed to use those challenges when he did.

Clearly he's doing something right, he's got a team full of undrafted free agents and turned them into SB contenders every year

He didn't have to use those challenges at all! You're playing a vastly inferior team, in your house and you use up all your challenges on ticky-tack spots. There might have been a play in the 4th that really mattered and you've used up your challenges? Carroll was throwing that red flag like he had an unlimited supply.
Some people succeed in spite of themselves!

 

Of course he did. Every down matters in every game, especially division games. Have the Steelers taught you nothing over the years? There's no such thing as a gimme in the NFL. If the refs blow a 3rd down call, of course you throw the challenge flag to get the first down. It would be dumb not to.

Either way, his record speaks for itself. He's clearly a very good coach

 

The Seahawks are not the Steelers, especially at home. Had he not used those challenges early, it probably wouldn't have changed the outcome. I's very likely that there could have been a questionable call/spot to challenge in the 4th that would have changed the game and he wouldn't have had any red flags left.
From my perspective, he's an adequate coach with really good talent to work with.

 

Has to be embarrasing when one of your star players speaks out that they need to run ball at goal line.

If that's what the cool kids do ,then, yeah i'm glad i played with my beakers and test tubes and Bunsen burners and ate my brown bag lunch at my own table in the counselor's office.

 

I just figured you were that cool, mysterious, Mila Jovavich chick from Dazed and Confused. I figure Real Steel was the geeky guy that was miserable and talked about philosophy all the time. I figure Blast was David Wooderson. I figure TTF was Ben Affleck since he had the paddle. I figure Glenn was the drunk guy at the party that picked a fight with Adam Goldberg. I figure PWP was Pink's coach who wanted him to sign the pledge, and I figure I was Pink because of how cool I am. Also my wife was the captain of the cheerleading team in high school and I think Pink's woman was a cheerleader too.
