I think Pittsburgh has a team that can beat NE but fear us? Please, they've owned us.

Big difference between "fear" and "avoid". I avoid potholes.

I don't think fear is the right term either haha but yeah I do think that we are the team they'd least like to face. We're the only team outside of Oakland (maybe) that has the offense to keep up with NE. If we keep them out of the end zone inside the 20 and have a good day on O we could knock them off.

This. We can beat them, even in NE, but they don't fear anyone. When you've won 4 SB's and make it into the playoffs every single year, you don't fear any team out there. NE is probably the most confident team in the league.

Oh puh-leeze. The Patriots fear the Steelers? HAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAAHA

Only way Steelers make it to the LI dance is if Patriots get knocked out in the division round by KC, Miami, Balitimore, Tennessee, Houston or Oakland. Similar to 2010 when Jets upset them. If the Patriots are hosting the AFC Championship vs. Steelers... I'd bet the house, kingdom and continent on the Patriots.

But... you also told us all with utter certainty that the Browns, Colts, Giants and Bills would easily beat us.

You might want to hold onto the house, and wager a hundred bucks.

Have you looked at the Steelers history at Gillette Stadium since Tom Brady has been QB for the Patriots? I'll give you a little hint... it's not very good. And it's not going to get any better, any time soon.

I never said Browns, Colts, Giants and Bills would easily beat the Steelers... just said they would win if the Steelers defense kept playing like it did vs. Cowboys and Ravens. Obviously the defense has improved, but the inconsitency is still there on offense with Ben's INTs, stupid penalties on the OL, etc. Obviously.

Power run, sure. Blitz-happy, no way. Brady is among the best in the league against the blitz. For every good result, you get gashed 2 or 3 times. You've got to cover and get pressure in his face with a 4 man rush. The blitz has to be nothing more than an occasional surprise.

I don't think the Pats fear us, but I do think they try to avoid us if at all possible as they just don't want to take any chances.

    This.

Personally I want us to beat them in the play offs just so people will lose this massive inferiority complex with NE.
Make no mistake: they are a very, very good and consistent football team. Of course they have a good record against us. So do a few other teams.
But NE aren't the team that used to run up the score on every opponent any more. They will want the easiest ride through the play offs as possible, and the easiest route right now is probably not through a generally healthy, on-form Steelers.

I'm sure he's chomping at the bit at the prospect of going against two rookie DBs. I remember a few years ago we had a young, brash DB who made some bold predictions against the Pats and Brady took it personally and absolutely humiliated him. Burns and Davis seem to be a little smarter than to ever do that. The last few weeks, they've been letting their play on the field do the talking. Hope it continues.

All this talk on fear or to say Pittsburgh is owned by NE is not the motivation the Steelers need to read nor hear, but rather having an excellent game plan with serious preparation. This staff needs to be getting their heads wrapped around a NE game cause its inevitable. The Pats are a well oiled machined and coached by one of the best. Was no rocket science Belichick and others have had lebeau's playbook memorized week to week and sad to say Butler hasn't improved the structure or appearance of this D enough to fool two of our biggest adversaries NE and the Ravens. (As to this fear thing, I believe NE does fear the Steelers it's just that they hide it well and fear gives them the edge)

It's time to turn the tables, it's time to get back to Steeler football, it's time for another championship!! :herewego!:

Brady has won in Pittsburgh 5 times by my calculation ( 2 AFCG's if you include Bledsoe 01 game, and 05,10,16.) He beat us 02, 07, 13, 15 in Foxboro. We beat him in 04 and 2011.

Can we beat them? Yes. However l don't think for a second they "fear" us. Our O would need to be unstoppable and the D would need to hold him to max 30 points.

Given we've held them to under 30 in 3 of our last 4 games against them... with substantially worse defenses... I'd say there's reasons to be confident.
