You're right, it's far worse then we are making it out to be. I had to sign out and back in after each and every post. On game day thread I would post, sign out, re-enter the game day thread and post again. Before it died I couldn't even do that anymore, I could sign in but all posting ability was gone. ****, all the buttons were gone for that matter. There were alot of us that had to jump through hoops, only a handful had no trouble at all. Not to mention the Mods sucked, so yeah, the board was a colossal pile of crap :bscow:

Don't miss your old friend. This is your old friend. She has grown from a into a precocious little girl into a beautiful young woman. It's sad that she doesn't hold onto your leg anymore to keep from falling down, but now you can do so much more with her! Anyway, you'll always have those memories.

I would guess you were probably able to log on and post then. I joined twice over the span of 3 years. The first time my account was never activated to allow me to post and the second time it was a 10-20 minute process to MAYBE get a post in. Thank you TT for making this message board, it is awesome to be interacting with fellow Steelers fans!

It appears that the Old Board is permanently dead without any change of coming back.

If you go to the old link it gets you here http://www.steelers.com/fan-zone/index.html

The old error page is gone.

I know that some thought it might come back at some future point.....but this is the end of the trail for that thinking.

This was handled very poorly by the Steelers organization. I find it very hard to believe that the shut down of the Old Board was done without the highest members of management knowing about it.

This was disrespectful to a lot of long time loyal fans at best. It sends a very bas message to me regarding how they really feel about Steeler Nation. There could have at least been sometime of announcement on the board to keep people aware of the plan to shut down. We lived with substandard service for years. I think that we at least deserved a common courtesy announcement.

I am glad this board is here and that many from the old board have come here! That still does not excuse bad beharior of the Steeler organization.

Worse...way worse. I couldn't post for years. I tried multiple email accounts, 4 different IP addresses, 2 different states! I GAVE UP! All I could do is login and then...nothing.

    About the old forum....

I don't think those in charge of the website ARE from Steeler Nation at all and could care less about the forum. That is obvious by how it was managed. I have a feeling that the entire website is subcontracted out and a representative from the team manages it, has oversight of it and makes the decisions about it that are cleared by someone higher up. If the manager does a poor job, then no one above them will know there are problems.

Don't be surprised if those in leadership in the organization even knows about the forum - or would even see any value in it. They certainly wouldn't look at what other teams do on their websites and think "We need to add that to ours now".

They obviously care about the fans - and are thankful to Steeler Nation but I don't think website, social media, forums or even the merch on the site is ever a thought in their minds. To them, you have management manage that stuff and let them work with vendors (including the agency that built the website). The coaches are probably not even aware of it (or don't really see the value in it so they don't care about it either).
