I will be the first to admit that upon his selection I was lukewarm to say the least. Quite dejected after missing out n WJax I, like most had minutes to gather myself, and hear Burns selection. I was ok with it, but not too excited. Fast forward to today, and Im quite content with Burns and where he's at right now. Artie is big, he's quick, and he can catch as well. What I enjoy seeing is his space in relation to his man he's on. You can actually see them in the same tv picture frame as Burns can play some press/man coverage. He's got a long way to go, and I'm not saying he will be "Rod Woodson Jr" (all time fav) but he's definetly changing opinions and I like what I've seen.

If our safeties can find a way to make a play, it would be very helpful. Sean Davis had another clear path to the QB on a safety blitz, but he found a way to whiff, result was a Browns TD. Multiple times today our safeties dropped sure interceptions, even Ike Taylor could catch those balls...

That's something he's still getting used to. In college he was able to bump guys down and spook them. No so in the pros, a little shuffle-dip and you miss if you don't come under control and break down.

Burns seems to be getting better but Sean Davis is a disaster! He misses tackles more than any other safety I ever saw, he has terrible hands and he takes bad angles almost always, I honestly don't know what the Steelers scouting department ever saw in him.

And to think if LeBeau was here these rooks would be buried on the bench...

Burns has a cocky confidence about him and he will be the next great CB for us.

Davis is still learning but is worthy of the start.

Hargrave has come in and has been solid, not flashy. That's his job right?!

This Defense should be back to form next season. They showed yesterday the way they should be playing...

burns really doesn't surprise me. I kinda figured he would find a way to start and play very well this year. davis is the one that I am alittle more disappointed in. I figured he would start and play well. maybe the few little injuries have held him back? I still think he will be a good player for us but he has got to sure up that position so we can replace Mitchell with a pick next year

The Bengals and Ravens game concerns me: I think the Bengals who know they are pretty much done for the year will intentionally tank this game play spoiler!!! so that the Ravens can stay ahead or even with us in the Division race. We have to win on Thanksgiving.:yeehaw:

    You've watched Mike Mitchell, right...?

His miss on the sack was bad, but credit to McCown for a veteran play. Had it been Kessler in there, I think he would have got the sack.

Burns had a good day yesterday, he was also going up against a Rookie WR too.

He's got T.Y Hilton then one of the best in the NFL in OBJ. Let's see what he can do there.

Cockrell had a rough day yesterday, Pryor was getting in better position that he was most times.

i thought i heard that Burns was covering the other teams #1.
    Dez Bryant? for example

please do not read an argument in to what i'm typing
i'm really trying to understand the whole picture of our players and our team

do our cb not switch sides ?
or our #1 against their#1 no matter what

for example Norman (WAS) i heard only plays one side of the field

Love Burns. Sean Davis needs to work on tackling. He came on a blitz yesterday the Kessler should have been dead to rights on 3rd down, but he whiffed. I have seen him do that quite a bit this year.

Hey, didn't Artie Burns get a pick yesterday on an under-thrown ball by "McCown the clown, the Cleveland Brown"?

So, he gets an easy pick, and all the sudden he is the second coming of Rod Woodson around here?

If he would have dropped that pick he would be a draft bust around here today.

I hope Artie has a long and productive Steeler career, but don't lose sight of the fact he picked off a bad pass from a bad QB, while covering a B-side receiver.

    phuch that

as someone here, on this site, pointed out

he needs to make sure he was down after that INT instead of just running into the EZ.
    kind of reminds me of

Plex"SHOOT MYSELF IN THE LEG" Burress
when he spikes the ball after a catch

    HEY COWHER!!!!!!!!
    Coach your mother fiuckin players
