The offensive line - which had previously played well against NE - was flimsy at best. 5 wide could have been used more, but I doubt it would have made that much difference overall.

Prime example the Raiders couldn't get the edge sealed early last night and the DE was going to eat them alive..They promptly took out a TE and inserted another OL and not only fixed the pass protection it created another running lane that they also exploited all night...

Same thing as the Patriots game but but but it's the Patriots. We were suppose to lose. Tomlin has 2 weeks to gameplan and came out with the same exact thing. I'm pretty sure the coaching staff went into the bye with the same mindset as everyone on here - It was the Patriots, we had no chance to win. That's the problem.

It would have made a huge difference , if a Team wants to stack the box and be able to play zone they must use some LB types in that package those same types would have to cover the Faster Bell and Eli types ....They match up much better against TE'S and it showed when we pulled the TE'S and got the speed on the field guys started getting open ..

AB needs to play better himself before he calls out teammates, the so-called best WR shouldn't get shutdown for 3 qtrs.

They didn't want to be one dimensional, that's why they wanted to run. You don't want Ben dropping back to pass on every play and taking all those hits either.

i saw cobi hamiltom wide open and ben threw to a doubled AB right near him. ben has to spread the ball to the open receivers. ben struggles when he doesn't practice fully. he was practicing limited and rehabbing too. it's not suprising that he then went mostly to his comfort zone guys. i've/we've seen this many times. that doesn't excuse coates from making that catch but he did this same thing in college and we knew it when he was drafted. when we spread the ball around it makes our stars able to make big plays and takes teams out of those defenses that smother them, ben has to practice with these other wr's and te's to do this.

I agree, all the top receivers get double coverage and still lead the league in receptions, julio jones isnt complaining about the coverage, if AB dont like it then put him the slot, they should start lining him up in the slot for more quick slants anyway, do something different with this predictable offense for a change, sunday is fast approaching, and if you think this board lit up after the rat game, just wait and see how it will light up if they lose to dallas.........

There is enough blame to go around. It was a group effort.

The only thing I would add to this, it's very hard to see on TV how much Brown is double and triple covered. You really have to be there and see in person how most teams have a corner right on Brown from the start and the saftey always shads over to his side. It's pretty obivious what should be open 1. A fast speedster receiver streaking down the side lines or a slot receiver/tight end/running back after Brown or the deep receiver clears the area. This is when we need a Bryant type and Coates has not getting it done in the last three games and not using Eli for a game and then not using him for 3 quarters against the Ravens is questionable coaching. Add the conservative game plan of trying to run into a brick wall and Ben not changing the plays makes for a loosing streak against decent defenses.

This is when they needed Bell to run patterns behind Brown from the backfield ...When we had AB on his own to the QB'S right they played him with a CB who stayed with him a Safety who shaded the sideline and a LB who buzzed underneath to take away any slants ,drags, post, arrow in routes things of that nature....So while they didn't always play bump and run they never allowed him a free release to the middle the LB buzzed that way almost every play..

This brings me to Why no swing passes or flat routes,RB dump, curls all those types of routes behind Brown ? Or run that way on outside runs ? So while AB is asking for another player to step up ,,the OC needs to step up first ...

AB is kind of starting to annoy me.

Didn't a good bunch of us think he could end up the greatest WR of all time if he were healthy and in the game long enough?

Now he's constantly being schooled by Julio and constantly complaining.

When things are good, hes amazing. Seems like when adversity sets in he goes home and takes the ball with him.

I think AB and Ben are getting a little frustrated the way teams are playing AB and that they also are getting frustrated some with each other. Also they both seem to be frustrated with some of the play calling. I.e. Coaches call the plays, players play.

I keep saying we are mentally weak. Ben is trying to keep AB happy by force feeding but it ain't working. Guys are open, he just ain't looking. Time for other guys to step up
