Pretty scathing indictment of the direction and preparation of the team. A lot more well reasoned than the simplistic "Ben can't play on the road, all his fault" logic you see here.

The team has plenty of talent, unless you want to entertain the notion that Ben, AB, Bell, Pouncey, DeCastro, Gilbert, Shazier, Tuitt, Heyward, Timmons, etc. are all just average players and the genius coaching staff is doing their best to keep them above water.

I'm going to laugh when this team starts rolling we are in the exact same spot we were this time last year. I'm also going to call out every single person that were jumping off the deep end.

I hope you do call me out in about 4+ weeks and I hope that I'm wrong. I've been a Steelers fan long enough to know when I see a team that is in disarray. This Steelers team has no fire, passion or will to win. Like I said... 9 wins is the ceiling... 6 wins is the floor. It will probably be somewhere in between.

And last year ended with backing into 2 playoff losses. I was hoping for better this year.

2014 was our best chance... with Ben, AB, Bell, rookie Bryant and Heath Miller. When Bell was knocked out by Bengals.. that pretty much ruined any chance at #7. Ben is now Philip Rivers... he'll have a few great games here and there, but won't win enough to make the playoffs.

High powered offense ? What good is owning a Bugatti when it breaks down every other time you use it ?

In our 4 loses we looked like we didn't even practice before the game. Maybe except for the Patriots game, but it's either very good or very bad with this team. I mean even the Browns look better than us when they lose. We just embarrass ourselves to epic portion when we lose.

Dont forget, at no point in the 15 season did we ever lose 3 games in a row with a possible 4th game loss staring us in the face sunday, so forget what we did last year, we cant have these multiple losses and think we are just going to turn it on and win 6 or 7 games in a row, multiple losses begins to make teams doubt there ability to win games and it's a hard thing to over come...

Are we going to play 6 backup QBs down the stretch again this year?

You know as well as I do that is a once in a 25 year event, and we arent playing the same schedule they played last year, because they did it doesnt mean we will do it, I know one thing if we lose a game to the browns we will be a laughing stock...

after that onside kick attempt we may.....lol

seriously though, the article just states what is polarizing the fan base including those here. Very high expectations before the season is a lot more enjoyable and easier to latch onto than tempering one's beliefs. Now we are in week 9 and have an average record with some very humiliating losses. I know I am very disappointed in the results as are most of you. Change is warranted. Both on the field and with regards to my own expectations.

It's not that I'm "expecting" us to lose to the browns but I can honestly say I won't be surprised if we do. I will honestly be more surprised if we serve up a 40 burger.

They are who I thought they are ...A Team with 3 really great players and then a Team with 7 or 8 good players and then a Team with mostly BU'S starting ...

It's been 8 plus years since I have been very positive about much of anything, but I do have a strong feeling about the Steelers winning the division and making the playoffs this year. Once there, who knows what can happen. I think they go 6-2 or 7-1 to finish the regular season. The 7-1 is just for financial reasons so I'll settle for 6-2 and it all starts this week against the Cowboys, Someone needs to take control of this team now. Player, coach or owner, it doesn't matter who, We need someone to step up and grab the brass ring. They have screwed up a bit, but anyone who has followed them as long as I have knows they do that from time to time and the season isn't over by a long shot. This could be SB #7. I hope so, I'm running out of time. Let's not give up on them yet.

I hope to hell you get the chance to do that. In the meantime, we are a poorly coached, underachieving team that needs a fire lit under their ass ASAP

Indeed. If anything, given the lack of execution shown by the players thus far it sure looks that way.

Does this team even look like, resemble or even have the fiber to run off 8 wins in a row? Based on what I've seen this year I would beg the differ.

Not gonna happen for the Steelers.

    1. The remaining schedule is too difficult
    2. Too inconsistent on offense... a few great games and then some horrific performances
    3. Defense is not yet built and ready for a deep playoff run
    4. Injuries seem to kill team chemistry... next man up does not apply for the Steelers, except for DeAngelo Williams
    5. No discipline... penalties kill the Steelers on offense more than lack of 3rd down conversions

I believe the Steelers have the easiest remaining schedule of all teams.
