As a head coach? Bill O'Brien took the Texans to the playoffs last season. ( Granted not a great division. He did turn them around after a poor start). Eric Mangini took the Jets to the playoffs in season one. McDaniels started out 5-0 In Denver.

Not everyone succeeds in their first head coaching go around. He's a name. I'd look at Matt Patricia too.

Isn't those challenges initiated by the coaches up in the booth? Aren't they the ones who suggest to the head coach to challenge or not?

In another thread, you questioned whether we lost to the 1-5 Chiefs or the 11-5 Chiefs. Now the Cards lost to the 0-2 Bills, not the 4-3 Bills. Does that mean you've concluded that Tomlin lost to the 1-5 Chiefs?

And you found *one* near example, using another absolute mouth breather of a head coach.

List all coaches of contending teams with future HOF QBs who have lost two games to 5-win or fewer teams *each* of the past four years.

It should be easy, parity and it happens everywhere and Yinzers wear blinders, and everything.

    I'll start the list:

When mocking the idiocy of someone's position, you use their stupid logic.

All coaches not named Bellichick are bad coaches...

List all of the coaches who have a better career win % than Tomlin
List all of the coaches who have more winning seasons than Tomlin

    Here's a good one....
List all the coaches in the history of the NFL who have a coached at least 5 seasons, that have a BETTER average division finish than Tomlin (1.7)... the answer: John Madden, Blanton Collier, Vince Lombardi, and Mike McCarthy. That's it.

There's a reason why Tomlin keeps such good company when you look at coaches records, history, etc.

Yes, he should definitely say "Ok, enjoy" and give you smile, pat on the head and a lollipop and move on.

You ever notice how certain fans only show up to post when the Steelers lose, then it's fire Tomlin he sucks. I remember a thread last season about replacing Tomlin with Haley .

I find there to be a lot more activity on here after a bad loss compared to a good win. I obviously don't have the stats like TTF would so I could be wrong, but that's just something I've noticed.

If we don't win a playoff game this year, I'd be 100% supportive of a coaching change. 6 years in a row of failure with an elite QB is unacceptable. Who that should be I don't know. Harbaugh would definitely be near the top of the list.

I'll also ad that I've never heard challenge success rate is a major issue with Tomlin. He made a terrible challenge last week but that would not be on my list of issues I've had with this coaching staff. I'm sure every coach has had their share of terrible challenges. Challenge success should be at the bottom of every list. Wining playoff games, beating teams that you should beat, winning games that you maybe shouldn't win..these are the standards I think any HC should be held to.

We won a playoff game last year. Not 6 years in a row.

6 years in a row of failure if we do not win a playoff game this year. That would be a 100% accurate statement. Not sure what your point is.

Why is every loss on the HC? The players are the one's on the field losing the games, to blame the loss to New England on Tomlin is idiotic like some fans on here did.

Dude get real, the Steelers aren't going to fire a coach just because they don't win a playoff game when the HC still has 2 years remaining on his contract.

It's a combination of things. Coaches had a part in the loss. It basically came down to execution. The players played a bigger part.
The biggest issue is knee jerk reactions.
    Example: Gronks TD.
Some said Mike Mitchell was out of position and went on to claim Mitchell is always out of position and a penalty machine.

After looking at a replay it looked like Sean Davis was possibly the culprit. Guess what now Davis sucks! Davis said after the game that he followed directions and was where he was supposed to be.

Butler confirmed later in the week that in fact Golden had Gronk one on one.
Guess what? Now Butler is a slow witted hay seed.

Point is most of the time people react and pass judgement without having all the information and before you know it misunderstanding of what happened turns into fact.

I could start a thread with a rumor about a player and before you know it people are ready to run the player out of town without doing any fact checking or research.
    Knee jerk fans.

If no fault is on the coach, why even have one? Tomlin gets blame from people who dislike him and don't think he's a good coach. People who do think he's a good coach tend to put the loss on the players.
