As a fan I can look past teams. It has no impact on what the steelers do.

Are you questioning Butler and Tomlin's D schemes?

They won't win out but we are not catching them. Even if we went 9-0, they'd have to go 6-3 or worse. Both are highly unlikely.

Since that SB loss to GB we have not really won a playoff game. Choking against the Tebow lead Bronco's has highlighted 5 years of under performing and losing games we had no business loosing. . You wanna celebrate the Bengals win as a great run in the playoffs fine... even 1 playoff in 5 years is not good. Not when your QB is Ben Roethlisberger. There isn't an owner or GM that would disagree with my statement.

To suggest that Tomlin doesn't know what he's doing is a weak stance to have. Especially considering the team played in two Superbowls, had multiple playoff appearances, never had a losing season, over came injuries to key players to win games, ect. ect. ect. with Tomlin as HC.

To suggest because Colbert came from "not exactly a franchise anyone would want to emulate" is also a weak stance. Especially considering that you believe the offense is loaded with talent and this team has been to 3 Superbowls with Colbert as GM.

Football is a team sport. It takes more than an offense loaded with talent and having a franchise QB to win.

2006?? Come on man. Tomlin's overall body of work as a coach should be the measure of his abilities. He's done fairly well up to this point in his career.

We actually have a pretty good record without Ben all things considered. It's actually a winning record since we drafted Ben. We won a couple last year without him. Charlie Batch and Byron Leftwich won a few games.

Idk what you were watching though we threw 2x more than we ran against the Pats. 47 pass attempts to 22 runs... we had 81 ypc rushing at 4 ypc by Bell, a 100yd receiver in Brown and Bell had 10 catches for 68 yards. It wasn't the game plan that lost it for us. It was walking away with FG attempts in the red zone. Throwing a pick in the end zone. Getting a TD called back via penalty. Missing two field goals, and not going for it on 4th and 2 down 11. Things like that lost the game. Not the game plan

How many teams in the league don't struggle to make the playoffs every year? If it was that easy this forum wouldn't even exist and we would all be watching more college football. Sure there are a few teams most years that make it with minimal struggles, but it seems like to me Tomlin gets them there every year with a chance to win. You watch and see. This team will go to the Playoffs with a 10 and 6 record and be the only team that has a shot at beating the cheatriots. The reason why they will have a shot is because we have the best coach at weathering storms. So let him create all the storms he wants as long as he keeps getting us there who cares.

Agree, and the only thing there that was arguably a bad coaching decision was attempting the long field goal late (which I hated). One other that you didn't list was the dumb challenge that could have allowed us an extra play or two at the end of the first half. So, to me that's two in-game head coaching decisions that may have contributed to the loss.

Timmons on Edelman, Golden on Gronk, Jones and Moats on offensive tackles without blitzing all year. Average coaches throw up their hands and say "guys gotta play better".

Great coaches know how to put their players into positions to succeed.

How many teams struggle to make the playoffs? Teams with elite QB's and maybe the best RB and WR in the league don't consistently struggle to make the playoffs. Expectations change when you have Big Ben as your QB. You think everyone would be fine if the Patriots didn't win a playoff game in 5 years? for those fans who think we out played cinci last year to win... 1 playoff win in 5 years... you think that would be acceptable from a Brady led patriots team? The last 15 years in the AFC there are have been 3 elite QB's in the league. We've got one of them in his prime. 1 W in the playoffs 5 years running is not acceptable.

BTW inconsistency is 100% on the coaching staff.

Exactly. That falls on coaching and the gameplan of not going for touchdowns.
