The Patriots weak link is their Offensive Line, and their RIGHT SIDE of the Offensive line might be as bad as the worst line in the league, San Diego's. The Steelers know that.

I expect to see the Steelers to move Shazier up from his LILB position to the A Gap and show blitz, and probably get there too, but it will make that side of the line collapse toward the center, which will open up delay blitz opportunities for Arthur Moats.

If Shazier and Moats are wrecking havoc early, the Pats will keep a TE in to help out, which keeps the TE out of the passing game.

Moats is gonna have a big game.

I'm going to key on Shazier and Moats the whole game when the Steeler Defense is on the field.

When the Offense is on the field I hope they don't put Landry under center because he will be eye to eye with 2 Pats LB's in the A Gap, making him sweat. Thats tough because ideally you want the Steelers running play action to freeze the Pats defense a second to allow plays to develop.

Id Shazier and Moats has a good game, and Haley only calls throws that Landry likes, maybe this thing will be close.

There is more weaknesses than just one player for me.

If anything.. even in wins, New England this year's has one Achilles Heel on defense; something Haley and Jones can and will exploit if given the oppurtunity to do so.

IF? There is no if, we WILL play off coverage, and everybody knows it because Tomlin has made it clear that he likes the DB's to keep everything in front of them.

The idea behind my thinking is that the right side of the Pats O-line is so bad that Shazier should be able to shoot the A Gap blitz and get to Brady quick, and if the O-line collapses toward the center, Moats should have a clear shot at him on delay blitz.
You obviously would rather play it safe and have Shazier and Moats be able to drop in coverage and take away the short slants, hooks, stops and such, but thats why you have a strong safety.

I suggested nothing of the kind. I was merely stating that if you run a delayed blitz with off-coverage, Brady will dink and dunk down the field and then score when one of our D messes up their assignment.

Great thinking, but the problem arises when they then throw a hot route to Gronk, Bennent, or Edelmen and take that away. If we get caught blitzing the gut a ton screen city will happen and we all know what happens then. I think we play some man press and try to make Brady throw it over the top for MM Davis or Dangerfield to snag. Everyone think we are going to play that soft cover 2 we might as well switch it up some.

I watched Tomlin's press conference video n the steeler website yesterday, Tomlin went over the entire Pats defense and didn't see any weakness. They have one shutdown corner, and one corner who can be beat, solid safetys, excellent LB's, and a strong D-line.

Interestingly, the Pats have the same weakness as the Steelers - a weak right side of the O-line.

Who is he going to dink and dunk to? The RB will stay in to block as soon as he sees Shazier in the A Gap, and the TE will stay in to help block Moats, he can release, but Moats can get to Brady just as fast as the TE can get to space and turn. Plus, a safety can pick up the TE.
All of this means the CB's are going to be in man coverage, but they are expected to be NFL players who can manup and cover their man.

I agree with you IF THE PAT'S GO WITH 2 TE'S. ONE OF THE TE'S WOULD BE ABLE TO RUN HOT ROUTES ALL DAY. So if the Pats go 2 TE's, we just bring in a nickel, but you can then put Timmons in the A Gap blitz.
If Timmons hits the A Gap to the Centers right, and the center collapses right to block him, that opens a big wraparound hole for Shazier to run through. The most important thing is to hit Brady, even if its after he releases the ball.

It's no secret that as Art Moats goes, so go the Steelers.

If you don't blitz Brady up the middle and at least throw your hands up to block his vision or bat down the pass...he's gonna eat you up alive with quick short passes

Ok so Moats sacked Tom Brady. Then what happened? What down is this?

It all sounds so plausible when you lay it out like this. Why hasn't anyone seen how easy it is to stifle Marsha and their passing game before this? Perhaps the Steelers and Coach Butler HAVE been looking ahead all season to this game and putting these tactics in reserve until tomorrow - which would explain the pitiful performances in Philly and Miami. Why not?

The Steeler website has Shazier playing.

Golbert, Heyward, and Deangelo are out, unfortunately. So is Wheaton ans Shamarko, and Ben Of course, and Wallace.

The big deal is Moats hits Beady early and often, maybe gets a couple sacks and a strip.

Yeah right the Steelers OLBs haven't hit any QBs this season.
