Tomlin is a very good coach. Everyone except for about 10-15 people here know it.

I am sick and tired of Ben not playing offensive line and qb at the same time. I mean every OTHER qb in the league blocks for themselves. Why can't Ben?! Also his defense was pathetic today as well. That's the worst defense I've seen Ben play in years. If he can't get off the field any quicker than that and generate more pressure than he did on Tannehill then we deserved this loss big time! Don't even get me STARTED on Ben's coaching!

I guess you don't understand?? As we witnessed Miami has the talent to beat the Steelers. That goes for every team in the league regardless of record. Teams have different strengths and weaknesses. There isn't much that separates teams talent wise in the league. Different factors can level the playing field between teams with better records vs teams with worse records. After all, the NFL isn't college where the difference in the level of talent can vary by a wide margin between teams.

One would figure after all these years that some fans would realize that his league has been full of parity for about 30 years. The NFL of 70's, 80's, and 90's is gone. In those eras a few teams would generally be favorites and be there at the end of the season. Well today's NFL is a far cry from those eras. I believe a majority of playoff teams change just about every year. Several of the teams that made it to the playoffs last year will probably not make the playoffs this year.

Cowher's teams loss to teams with lesser records. BB teams loss to teams with lesser records. It happens to every team in the NFL. The sad part is that fans haven't caught on. They just like to complain, remain upset, or fire the HC because he isn't good. Upsets happened to the Steelers and every team in the past. Upsets will happen to the Steelers and every team in the future. The Steelers are at the top of the division and still in the thick of things. I will remain hopeful that the Steelers can get relatively healthy and play better back at home next week.

I understand what you are saying. I don't agree with you at all. Roster to roster, Pittsburgh has better players than the Dolphins. It stands to reason then that we wouldn't get creamed today.

People want him gone because the only thing he is consistent at is being inconsistent. Tired of being out coached, game management and the lack of control of the team.

You don't have to agree. The fact remains the Dolphins won the game. Overall, the Dolphins probably have better defensive players than the Steelers.

It's a fact that when a team with a better record makes mistakes vs a team with a lesser record the team with the lesser record has a good chance to win. There are no Alabamas vs Appalachian States in the NFL.

How long have you watched and payed attention to football? In all the time you've watched you've never seen something like this happen every season to other teams?

18-18 against sub teams under Tomlin is what I'm hearing... Could be better could be worse don't know. Either or it's a pretty crappy stat.

So it's either a coach who has lapses in getting folks prepared, or a QB who supposedly decides to take games off or fakes injuries when the going gets tough, or it's a cover cushion, or it's the most physically overworked team that can't tackle, etc...

I like Tomlin, I do believe he's a good coach. I also believe he don't hold certain folks accountable when he should, or yank certain folks when he should be it blow out or embarrassment... He simply won't discipline his stars.

I don't think he really has a good leash on his teams regardless of the continued success he has had.

He ain't throwing picks, he ain't missing tackles, he ain't get ting flags thrown on him... But he doesn't seem to put the asses that are doing these things on notice come these gimme games that they give away.

This is the part I'm getting at. We have been horrible in 2 of the last 4 games. Why all the mistakes and who is responsible?

How do you know when or who he holds accountable? Because he doesn't spew it out in the media?

I've heard and read that he holds players accountable:

There's not much difference in the way he treats an undrafted rookie or a soon-to-be Hall-of-Famer. Hines Ward — the Steelers all-time leading receiver — found that out during Tomlin's first camp.

"The one thing you respect in him as a coach was that he holds everybody accountable," said Ward, now retired at 40. "I remember me going into my 13th season, and he is like 'Hines, you can't do that.' He is calling me out in front of the team. I always respected that as a player."

Safety Mike Mitchell echoed that. He said there is never any guessing with Tomlin. Players appreciate and respect coaches who follow that approach.

"He is extremely honest," Mitchell said. "If you are messing up, he's going to tell you that you are messing up. It sucks to hear that, but at least it is the truth. If you are doing a good job, then he will tell you that you are doing a good job."

Sometimes I just can't believe what I read on message boards from fans week to week based on a W or L. During a win Tomlin is great. During a loss he terrible, doesn't have a good leash on the team, ect. ect. ect. All I can do is think that disappointment clouds people's judgement.

No such thing as a gimme game in the NFL. You should realize it after years of watching the NFL.

"Good" coaches don't lose a playoff game to a Tim Tebow-led football team.

That's the end of the discussion right there.

The team has had plenty of garbage wins, too...Off the top of my head:

    2008: at Jax
    2009: at detroit
2010: at Buffalo (the TD drop)
2011: at Indi; vs KC; both wins vs Browns
    2014: Browns, at Jax
    2015: at St Louis

If yelling at your players was the trick, then Mike Ditka would have had several more SB rings.

It doesn't help when the safety is getting 15 yards penalties & the db's are playing 10 plus yards off the receiver. So now the d-line & backers are pressing to get stops and are out of their gaps what you get? a 200 yard rusher that no one ever heard of!!!!

It falls mostly at the feet of the players. I think we will truly know when we have a coaching issue. I don't think that time is now.
