I agree the Keith Butler experiment is just horrible at this point!!!!! As for the offensive game plan, I just don't understand why Haley & Ben won't take what the defense is giving up. The Dolphin's was a desperate team in turmoil and the Steelers didn't take advantage of it's weakness. You could tell that Coates wasn't ready to play. I know that Ben is the team better option but why pay Jones if he's not able to produce when he's call upon? Next man up right? This team will not win on the road if Haley & Ben keep this up & Keith butler refuses to put pressure on the quarterback and let the corners play man to man. I will agree Mike Mitchell isn't very good in pass coverage. He seems to get more penalties than positive plays.

Yes he does but hitting people after the catch and first downs is somewhat worthless. He seems to always be several steps away from the receivers and I doesn't appear that anyone is afraid of his hitting ability.

    This stat says it all.

5-11 against sub .500 teams on the road.

    That IS a coaching problem!

What did I say? 4-3 at the bye. The Steelers are pretenders. Eagles game said it all. This team is not what it is advertised. This happened just like Bucs 2 years ago... and Ravens last year.

I want to believe that this team can beat anybody but if they refuse to install a game plan offensive & defensive to exploit the other team weakness. They won't beat the Pats or the 'Boy's.

There's nothing I like about the Pat's but you can't ignore the obvious. They don't buy into individuals player stats. It's literally taking advantage of the other teams weakness. If that calls for run after run oh well, etc. With Ben & Haley, Bell or Williams can have positive runs but you can almost bet it will be bombs away even though the other has shown no signs of stopping the run.

All the more reason he needs to be converted into a strong safety considering his range is average despite his immense downhill abilities.

    Need speed rushers.

I said in another thread, but Dolphins might be second worst team in the league, we might struggle all year on the road.

My issue is on the road you need to go with things you can hang your hat on, like a strong run game. Why isn't our two RB's the focus of this offense. Eli Rogers and C Hamilton getting passes in this game? Why?

Not entirely his fault. Artie and Gay have to be more sound in their fundementals. The front seven has to control their gaps.

Most importantly though.. the entire team needs to play fundemental football and stop committing asinine penalties.

Within the same token... not being aggressive realizing the lack of key pieces does not warrant Butler a free pass.

This is so true. It's amazing how often we don't take advantage of other teams weaknesses and try to impose our will rather than simply take what we're given. It's like Tomlin has too much pride and refuses to acknowledge that just maybe we need to adjust because the other team is better than we are in a particular aspect of the game. It's embarrassing that Bell had 10 rushes today against the worst rush defence in the league. We weren't far behind early so there's no excuse for that. This was one of the worst game plans I've seen in a long time.

If Tomlin doesn't demand change from Haley, Butler & Ben this team will have a difficult time finishing with a winning record. If Ben doesn't start using all his receivers he will suffer more hits & sacks cause he's holding on to the ball waiting for AB to beat coverage. Also Keith Butler doesn't appear to be a aggressive coach.

And they probably could have called 3 more late hits on Mitchell today. He always seems to be a play late and a horse collar short.
