While the offense was inept most of the day....and certainly did the defense no favors.

Those short fields are the only thing that kept the Dolphins from going over 500 yards of offense.

I stood by Coach Lebeau during a few of these eggs...but Coach Butler and his game planning are firmly in my cross hairs.

I saw corners (Will Gay) lined up 10 yards deep on 3rd and 2.....and 15 yards deep on 3 and 6
In this instance I only pick on Gay because as a vet I expect more situational awareness from him. All the Corners are back.

As much as the 250 to 300 yards passing a week bothers me.....Well hey...at least you shut down the run....but when you give up 250 passing and 200+ rushing......thats a problem.

Sure Miami got its starters back on the Oline...but we are getting zero pass rush...zero, none, nadda.

Its time to let the LBs loose. PRESSURE can change everything.

I am never a BLOW IT UP and start over guy....but for the second time in 4 games....This defense has been beyond bad.....drop your safeties...and start blitzing....whats the worst that can happen..you lose by 15 and give up 250 to 300 yards passing. Thats happening now.

Ben was off, the playcalling was weak....that will happen from time to time...but the defense needs to step up. I knew the game was over in the 3rd quarter...just simple math...the offense was going 3 and out...and the defense was giving up 7 minute drives.....We were not going to have the ball enough times to get back in it. Turnovers are the difference makers in this league more often than not...and we don't have anyone that can cause them.....at least not when you are willing to give up everything short until your in the redzone.

Ok....I pray we beat the Pats next week...I would hate to be angry for a month before they play again.

what was embarrassing was the physicality on defense. Ajayi and Landry looked like Bettis and A Boldin. and Landry's not a big guy. Miami took the physical momentum from the start and it snowballed.

I don't understand why Butler seems to went away from what worked last season, the pass defense was bad but at least they got sacks. This season no pressure on the QB and giving up too many yards.

If you look at every time Ben plays poorly, it is against teams that get pressure with only 4 guys. DeCastro is playing really bad, maybe he should sit and let Finney start in his place until he gets on track. When the defense plays like they did, the offense has to score on just about every possession to win, and the stops early in the game wasn't good D, it was mistakes like 2 dropped passes and it seems like the only way we can defend a pass is hope for drops, next week is going to be brutal.

I had this conversation today with a buddy. Why only rush four especially when it's not working? If the reason is you're worried about getting beat deep, well that was happening anyway.
Last couple weeks we got pressure and look what happened.

It's not the losses (at the Link & now in Mia), it's receiving a beating that lucky for us I can count on one hand in my lifetime. Yet, two of them within weeks of each other in the same season?

Obviously, the D is going through growing pains but add injuries and no offense, The Perfect Storm. TBH, that's what worries me most. No O. We know our D is suspect but we've Ben able to outscore the comp in times of trouble. Where's Brown? What did Bell do for us today? Like both Grimble & James but where were they?

Bell averaged 4-5 yards per carry but he only got the ball 11 times. I did not see most of the game but that stat stands out.

I agree the Keith Butler experiment is just horrible at this point!!!!! As for the offensive game plan, I just don't understand why Haley & Ben won't take what the defense is giving up. The Dolphin's was a desperate team in turmoil and the Steelers didn't take advantage of it's weakness. You could tell that Coates wasn't ready to play. I know that Ben is the team better option but why pay Jones if he's not able to produce when he's call upon? Next man up right?

I'd lay more of the blame on the offense than the defense, tbh Hack.

And where the defense was weak was not stopping the run game. The secondary played ok (Burns looked like a rookie, and Mitchell did some dumb things), but the front 7 didn't impose themselves on the game.

Injuries... Ben still throwing off (which he's been doing a lot this season) and odd route choices. The first interception should just never have been thrown, and the second one he had three guys open.

Not sure if Coates was running bad routes or what but he never seemed to be in quite the right place. AB kept calling for the ball but not getting open.

Just one of those games where everything went wrong - pretty much what @D0bre Shunka@D0bre Shunka said.

yup Ben really struggles when they rush 4. If you blitz ben he will pick you apart, I think teams are realizing just to rush 4 as our O line can't hold someone that long.

Boom or Bust for the Steelers. The Steelers have become too dependent on the big plays rather than make the plays to maintain posession and keep the the defense off the field. How many third and ones do we go for the bomb rather than just get the yard. How many times did we throw the long ball today and was successful at it. Bell get the ball get 3 to 4 yards each carry and can't find a play to get 1 to 2 yards for a first down....... Really..... The two games we lost we were totally out coached in every aspect of the game. The ups and downs are a true reflection of the coaching and nothing else. The players seem totally unprepared for their offense today. The offense was totally out of sinc today because they did not get any rythem today due to the play calling. It is time to move on from this Coaching staff.

I could not figure that out in any way. Not sure what they were trying to accomplish out there today.

I'm glad to say I missed most of the game due to my sons youth cross country meet. But that was a bad showing...... But, my wife says I need to be more of a "glass half full" kind of person. So here goes... At least everyone else in the division lost too. How'd I do?

What are you talking about? Mike Mitchell ensures the physical natural of this defense will always be intact.

We have the best running threats in the league, the WR talent on this team is just crazy, LBers out the arse, and cant beat MIAMI!!! I just dont understand why in the h*ll when the running game is working, stop doing it and go to passing and vice versa. Perfect example, Bell/Williams driving down the field, 3rd and 2 and go deep down the field. You are losing but moving the ball; WHY?

Drives me crazy. If this team doesnt go to the SB with the talent that is there, it's their own fault.

Just finished watching the game because I worked today.

The offensive line got dominated early and it never stopped until the last scoring drive.

As for the defense, I think the injuries have just become too much to overcome.

I agree wholeheartedly. When Landry gets through a series without a turnover it feels like a win to me.

While the defense was awful.... our offense is built to compensate for those weaknesses. I think Ben only had 83 yards passing at some point in the 4th quarter. Pathetic offensive performance

This is the big irony of firing Arians and bringing in Haley.... Nothing's has changed. Ben still wants the long ball. I'd be utilizing LevBell as much as I could to open up the pass, not the other way around.

Like seriously I feel like designing gameplans is so fckn easy just dink and dunk a bunch get like 3.5 yards a play, of course go long once in a while, get the damn ball in Bells hands and let him work his magic...just don't suck!
