Really? because they used to be more physical before the new CBA. Must be a slow news day.

I kind of read Ben as saying "we're a physical football team" in a kind of "we're better than other teams" way.

I.e. someone asked him about the injuries they had, and he turned it into a positive about aggression and hitting.

Otherwise, it seems a slightly odd thing to say...

But like Lizard says, probably a slow news day.

4-1 so far. What ever they're doing in practice is working.

Injuries happen in contact sports. They're not playing chess.

Football players get hurt. Coaches will tell you more injuries result from lighter hitting camps; that the bodies have to be "football ready".

Disagree with Ben on this. Mainly in the tackling part. If you think the tackling is bad now, just think if you played touch football in all practices then had to tackle in games..

I'm not in the Burgh nor at the practices! But two thoughts come to mind regarding Ben's comments: 1. He's right! 2. Maybe we are just drafting "some" of the wrong players????? I'll defer to Ben on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've gone through what they do, I simply wasn't good enough to do it as a career. I know what they go through though, played the sport for years. Played hockey too, which is no less physical.

You gotta admit though, these guys have it easy compared to players of years gone by and yet so many of them whine about a bit of hard work

We don't know what they go through because none of us played in the NFL which is a completely different beast.

I do agree that they have it easier compared to players from yesteryear, from practice to the playing field, absolutely.

I read the original article a couple days ago, but my first impression was that Ben thought the physical practices may be one cause to the injuries. I don't believe he said it was the definitive one. Just my take on it. I think the whole thing is overblown tbh.

Ben should have kept that conversation in house. But, like always, Tomlin say the exact right thing. "Ben has been here long enough to have an opinion and express it." I like how coach just shut the door on that BS that the media always tries to make more of than it is. I still think Ben should have expressed his opinion not via the media.

It's funny but I think Ben might have more pull in the organization than anyone other than Tomlin and the Owners hahaha

Yeah I heard the interview on the radio. I didn't take away that Ben was saying that that was the exact cause of the recent injuries, but more that it may or may not have something to do with it and that there's a fine line there. Tomlin was asked about Ben's comments and he said he had no problem with it. We all know that if Tomlin doesn't like it he'll say something.

Full contact checkers would be awesome, though.

Adidi K. Of the NFL Network just said the defense disagrees, including Heyward, but the offense agrees, 2 OL one being Foster thanks Ben for speaking up ,

She also said the steelers always practice in pads on Wednesdays but have NOT put the pads on on 3 Weeks!!!! Curious why Ben says something now when they haven't hit in the last 3 weeks ...
