I'd be surprised if he retires before 38.

I don't know, he might be hurt, there was that report that he kept going to the locker room in the Washington game. Nothing ever came of that though, might have been nothing more than using the bathroom.

I think two things: 1) Ben has entered the 'decline' phase of his career. 2) the yrs of beating will start to take their toll. His picks are up. He appears to be more erratic at times, missing/overthrowing open guys that he used to hit.

Having said that, I don't think this means necessarily that Ben can't put up great numbers or win titles. For individual players the 'ascending' and 'decline' trajectories are not smooth, they are choppy. He's also got better weapons and OL now, the league is more pass happy than ever. This will give plenty of statistical ammunition for fans to say: "See, Ben's not aging, his numbers are better than ever!"

We'll see. But I won't be surprised that two yrs from now, it's clear that the 36 yr old Ben has dropped off. And sometimes the drop off is striking. Jim Kelly, a guy that Ben is compared with, fell off fast.

Now, Ben may still be good enough to hold a starting job at 37 or 38. But I can't him see playing as long as Peyton did or Brady will

You all act like you haven't seen this Ben before. He normally or usually shows up against inferior teams or games against N.E. What bothers me, is, I didn't see not one person get upset with themselves or teammates on the field or sideline.

Give Ben a couple of 10 foot tall receivers and he'll be all right.

The QB that you mention did not get hit like Ben has been hit.
