We are the worst tackling team in the NFL and we have been for many years now.

Looks like someone else doesn't know what he's watching then, and who also doesn't watch the rest of the NFL either.

I respectfully disagree, Trafalgar. This team does not tackle well, they haven't in YEARS. They don't know how to wrap up and complete a tackle. Launching your body into an opposing player is not tackling.

I believe Tomlin mentioned the tackling in his press conference as well but I guess he doesn't know what he's watching either

You claimed that the Steelers were the worst tackling team in football and have been years, I call BS on that.

    Nothing to celebrate either.

They're no better or worse than most of the NFL, tackling has gone to hell throughout the NFL. The OP claimed the Steelers were the worst tackling team in the NFL and had been for years, that's nonsense.

It's not just the Steelers launching and missing either. So while they had a bad night tackling last night, that does not mean they're the worst in the NFL and have been for years.

    That's just hyperbole.

Let's face it the team sucked at everything last night, so much so that one reflection i'm going to call this a let-down game after a divisional game in bad conditions last week. It happens in the NFL, teams let down all the time, so do the same in college. A divisional win is worth more than one on the road against the NFC.

If the team lays another egg on SNF then we have a problem, I want to see how they rebound after that pathetic effort first though.

I think the OP is making a statement not meant to be taken completely literal but out of frustration making a statement that seems completely true.

I also feel at times my beloved Steelers are the worse tackling team playing and has been.
Don't have stats to prove it and don't really care. Point is we suck really bad at a fundemental part of the game.

Fair enough assessment, Trafalgar. You're right, the NFL as a whole is not good with tackling. I just see how the good teams seem to swarm to the ball, and make what appear to be solid looking tackles. Then again, when there's five guys around the ball carrier, odds are pretty good that someone will bring him down.

I have been watching the Steelers for 45-50 years, never thought I would
see the poor display that I am seeing. It is depressing. Not so sure we will ever see
good fundamental football again in my lifetime.

While we need to improve our tackling we are not the worst. Not even close.

I think Burns and Davis really need to work on it the most. But they are rookies, hopefully it comes in time.

But, I've been disappointed with the tackling from as team effort this year as well.

They need to keep their heads up and see what they are tackling, put their shoulder into the guys gut, wrap both arms around them and drive him to the ground. Too many attempted arm grabs, Mitchell shoulder shivers (hurt him more than opponents) shoe string tackles, and trip ups. PWP wanted to know how they stop the screen pass and short dumps to the RB, simple destroy him on each and every time they try that play.
