I would consider Jarvis to be a bust, he's not a difference-maker. Never can get to the QB, an extremely worthless tackler, but he is getting better at holding the edge on run plays. We need to draft a couple more edge rushers...

The difference here is Cam has play well/good since being here, JJ......not so much! JJ however has gotten off to a better start then he has in the previous 3 years. jmo

i think fans need to get out of the notion of what our 3-4 used to be and what certain positions used to be expected to do. it's changed. jj has played both sides at OLB and ILB in two games. harrison is dropping into coverage more. we are mixing it up more than ever to confuse the offenses. i think when cams ankle gets to 100% again we will be seeing more pressure from our front. he's playing but i don't think he's quite right just yet. that affects the others too. anyway jj had a pick in his hands last week and he made a nice one last year so his coverage is coming along. he's being asked to do a lot of things in this D and not just rush the passer. our LBers have 2 picks and dropped a 3rd that was in their hands in two games so far so something is working right.

Easily handled by the Eagles no-name tight end. I'm more convinced than ever he's a total bust.

    Not living up to expectations.

Most shocking for me has been Tuitt. Thought he would have at least 2 sacks coming into the game. Does not have one.

Fair enough point, it's not that he's bad..it's just that I expected so much more of him, and I still feel like he's so close to being good that it's frustrating.

I always go in with zero expecations that way no disappointments and any surprises are all good.

He's a huge disappointment, but he's not a bust. The guy has pretty much been a starter when healthy.

When did Steelers fans start accepting mediocrity from our LB'ers? Jones has had mediocre games and is nothing more than a mediocre player, at least in our system. He might do well in a very different system with a different role, but in our system, he's a waste of a 1st round pick

He could have KILLED Wentz today and it just looked like he straight up missed. Made me madder than a dang wet hen.

To be exact, I'd say about 2013.

Because he is a starter, does not make him good. Mediocre at best. But what gets me more than anything, is we got people here that still think he is good. He is not even good at run defense as some people say. He had the running back go right buy him a few times on Sunday because he was still engaged with the blocker and the running back was literally right beside him then blew past him.

The main problem is that we have no one better now with Dupree out. Even though I think Harrison should play over him. I have seen enough of him years ago to say he is not what we need at that position. Enough said about JJ.

    I doubt it.

They just know we don't have anything better.

Madder than a wet hen. I like it. I'm thinking we may consider starting a wet hen instead of JJ

He was drafted to fix the pass rush and has failed in that regard. Of course draft position matters - high picks are supposed to net you better players. If you screw up too many of these things it sets your team back years.

Worilds failed, Jarvis failed, Dupree is a ?. If he's a bust, they will have spent 7-8 years trying to replace Woodley and Harrison and frittered away the 2nd half of Ben's career.

At this point I'd go the free agent route. Get a proven guy, pay him the money we had hoped we'd pay Jarvis. Baltimore got Dumervil, Denver got Ware while we were trying and failing to develop guys. Can you imagine this team the last three years with either of those guys?

Tuitt is grading out well, he's just getting doubled every play because there's no help.
