Whether people believe it was innocent or not.. the NFL had already written up new guidelines this past offseason for enforcement of excessive celebration.

He should be... but he is not; a paradox towards your previous statement. The issue with the NFL competition committee is not what emphasis of rules they draft, but rather how the refs approach it. Granted.. these refs are not getting a free pass. Within the same point however, legislation of entertainment is just going to make the game more dull, decreases competitive spirit, and Ultimatley drives the product of the medium down.



I agree with you Blast, but the NFL has these rules written in stone. Until a change occurs.. expect these gaffes like the one Von Miller had to be more of the same.

It was classless.. I never cared for grabbing the attention when it has taken an entire team and sidelines to get you into the end zone. I view football to watch football. I don't care for the look at me stuff, nor a platform to voice their political views, their racist views or what have you.

 

Did you watch THursday night football and hear the exchange about Rivera wanting Cam Newton to start getting calls like Brady and Manning used to. You know the extensive roughing the QB ones. I was like good luck with that because Ben hasn't gotten them ever in his career. Man got his nose broke no flag, shot to his back no flag. twisted three ways to sunday by three guys at once no whistle and no flag.

 

No crap! They let him get his arm twisted all out of socket by Burfict in that playoff game as well, while admonishing the Steelers for playing dirty!

 

He got a 15 yd penalty, selfish act. Save that nonsense for Dancing With The Stars.

 

If AB wants to dance after a TD without getting a penalty then I'm alright with it, but getting penalties and being vulgar come on man kids watch football too.

Some of those catches he makes I'm surprised he doesnt grow a 40 foot wing span and fly over the earth breathing fire from his mouth.

Well there is entertainment and then there is dumbfounded immaturity. I don't mind some of the celebrations but the twerk was uncalled for IMO. Kids watch this game and somehow look up to these players. I would rather players just hand the ball back to the officials ala Heath Miller than to dry hump air. It's just too goofy. HS players will be pulling that crap and it bothers me to see. Some of it is funny but some of it is just odd. That was odd. What limit does he go to? Will he pull a Randy Moss and pretend to moon the opposing teams fans?

I hate to have the get off my lawn old man type attitude but like someone said before there are 53 other players contributing to the success of the over all team.

I saw Decastro make some awesome blocks. Should he start twerking all over the stadium?

I don't care for it. AB is certainly a dynamic player, I just wish he was more like Barry Sanders was. Act like you've been there before.

I just think it's odd that celebrating after a great play, like a touchdown, carries the same penalty as launching yourself at someone's head with your helmet........ Don't seem right..... Although AB's was a tad over the top.......

 

Grown men watching football for entertainment and then complaining when a professional athlete celebrates is a much bigger question mark to me.

Who cares? Let them have some fun. It's BS that celebrations are a penalty to begin with.

 

Well, Grown ups tend to think different.
Sure it's a game and some will say entertainment. but when it is a contract and a penalty or something that is detrimental to the whole it becomes a business.
i'll give you your TD celebration when the players can smoke marijuana without punishment.
Can't wait to see what celebration is down the road when that happens.
