Issue is the dead cap hit. He is here to stay until 2018 when the hit goes to 4 mill. I hope he has an injury free season. The dude can play when healthy like him or not...

It's an even numbered year (2016)... so Pouncey might make it through the entire season without an injury. Next year we'll have to worry.

 

So Decastro being the paid the same amount as AB right now. Makes you think what AB's new contract will be?

 

Pretty soon all 22 starters are going to have 10 to 14 million$ cap hits, we now have a 114 million in contracts for a center and a guard, 108 million in a QB and pretty soon 75-80 million in a receiver, doesn't leave a lot for the other 31 players, if AV has a good season his agent is going to want some payola for him commensurate to left tackle starting money, a team can only play the restructure game for so long to find cap money...............

 

this is why i wanted to try to ink AV this year to a lower amount right now.

 

Maybe by mid season they can do that, I mean the kid is playing for 500 K in his final contract year, a paltry sum for a starting left tackle....

AV can take a hike then, he's not getting big LT money anytime soon from the Steelers. They might be grooming Jerald Hawkins to be the future LT.

 

You realize AJ Green gets 15 million a year right? Let's just assume AB gets his contract now and not in 1-2 years when that price only goes up. He's going to want 16-17 for at least 6 years. You do the math aka AB isn't remaining with the Steelers.
