this stretch is no gimme by any stretch of the imagination. AB is a stud we know that but someone else will have to step up big. Dwill is also a stud and will help. we are far from being up to our standards though.

wheaton hasn't played much. eli is young and new. DHB continues to drop some catches. the TE situation will take time but for now is a down grade. nix hasn't played yet. heyward is hurting. his backup is hurting. we have a new CB that won't quite be up to speed yet. we are not sure about how our RT will play with a bad wing.

even when we get to full strength it will take a week or two for these guys to get seasoned together, so i see this first month as a grind it out session for this team. guys will have to step it up big. can they? teams will try to blanket AB and take him out of the game plan.

It is going to be a tough season defense wise, young guys needing coached up
We will just have to see how it plays out. We could be in lots of shootouts this season.
We really have only one difference maker on the defensive side of the ball, and he has a hard time staying on the field.
Lets hope Dupree comes back strong? Carnell Lake, coach Butler and Coach T will really have to work
with this defense. We will find out next Monday night. I hope all players have been paying attention.

Time of possession will be huge for us going forward, this season. This defense is going to need some help.

it's the offense i'm worried about for the next few weeks. no bryant. no heath. no bell. a wounded gilbert. a wounded wheaton and where has nix been? this is not last years offense by any stretch.

    Not worried about the offense.

The defense is literally raining blood before even the first regular season snap. No Dupree, no Golson and who knows how well Heyward's ankle will hold up. Add that to a shaky secondary.. and this team's defense is going to have to be offense yet again.

However... much like mac stated in the OP, if Pittsburgh comes to even 4-2 heading into the midway point, obtain Dupree and Green; Golson soon after.. then this is where the Steelers can become dangerous. I sure hope Pittsburgh can get to at least .500 for the six week time frame.

I would bet the Steelers will be better than .500 after 6 games.
As a matter of fact I have. I think they will be 4-2.
