I think we need to look elsewhere.

that being said, I do believe that I will be with Lambert and Bleier for every game next season :)

Why not look at Jay Paterno?

    jay paterno?!

i'll refrain from responding due to the obvious sarcastic nature of that suggestion.

    it is sarcastic, right?

not kidding at all. Would make as much sense as todd haley. Todd haley wouldn't be good for the stillers. he couldn't hack it as a coach in KC, why would he be good here?

The only reason he didn't make it in KC is because Mr. Patsie, Scott Pioli, wanted to install another Patsie, Romeo Crennel, as head coach. He gave up on Haley way too soon. Shoot, Haley had KC in the playoffs his first year and they were turning it around his second year when Cassell got hurt.

    HIRE TODD HALEY IMMEDIATELY!!!

kansas city had about as much right to brag about 'making the playoffs' that year as seattle did.

paoli saw his team being imploded with no leader in place. he received kudos for not letting his mistake fester any longer.

jay paterno? everyone at penn state understood he only had the job because of nepotism, wanted him gone badly, and realized they couldn't get rid of him until joepa was gone.

He comes from good stock though...

Let's see what happens, I don't think Todd Haley would be good. Why not get a former player like the Donkies in Denver have, since Elway is calling the shots anyway, why not have Terry Bradshaw do it? :rawk:

Todd Haley might soon be off the market as he's getting a second look by the Cardinals. He might snag that QB coach job from BA. I would think if he got wind that we might be interested in him for OC he wouldn't go through the motions with Arizona for QB coach. Which leads me to believe he's not on our OC list. Let's see now, who finished second in our unofficial poll?? Clements?

why would the cardinals need a second look at todd haley as their qb coach if they've worked with him before as an OC? don't you think they'd have an understanding of his talents/skills/abilities/work ethic/etc by now? that seems interesting to me.

also, if haley was the stud that the OP thinks we should hire to run our offense, why are the cardinals hesitant to jump all over him to re-join their team in even a diminished capacity like working with their young quarterbacks?

inquiring minds wanna know. i wanna know.

The only position they have open is QB coach. It's a little unusual for a former HC to step back and accept that job. Perhaps they're working out a power sharing arrangement. We'll see.

Haley may have committed career suicide. There is a story circulating that hasn't gotten too much attention but there's no disputing that Haley made the accusation that KC was tapping his phone and spying on him. He hasn't supported this claim with any evidence which would be a big red flag for any future employers. If you are going to make a claim like that, you better be able to prove it, even if what he says is true, better have evidence, otherwise keep it to yourself and move on. I wouldn't hire someone like that. Could be why he is being looked at as only a QB coach in Arizona, he has ties there so maybe they are trying to throw him a bone.

i don't get all the hype over him. the offensive production just doesn't stand out. 3 RB's mainly used, all around the 500 yd. mark, but only 3 TD's. that's similar to the willie parker years. lot's of yards, but no scoring. i'm not sold on haley at all. i've been wrong before though.

Personally, I think he sucks. Warner, Fitz and Boldin can make alot of OC's look good and that one year is the only year he has to thump his chest about.

Just a reminder to you guys that I was on this long before Ed Bouchette, Gerry Dulac or any clueless reporter at the PPG. :)
