Bottomline is if Ben gets injured we're screwed, both Vaughn and Landry suck

I think he has decent pocket presence. You'll see him move up in the pocket when the rush is coming from the outside and he seems to move around okay and he seems composed . . . I think he just holds onto it too long and, eventually, he's gonna get sacked.

Now, we can't see what's going on down the field and whether any of our receivers are getting any sort of separation or not so it's hard to blame him if there's nowhere to throw the ball, we're down 17, he's trying to make an impression, and he's taking sacks by trying to extend plays.

I like how people want Vaughan to get time with the starters because they think Jones isn't doing anything with them. Jones didn't have the starters either he had the B squad or the 1B/2A squad. Lol missing both RBs, two WR's and they pulled DHB early, really no TE with experience, no RT, Pouncey left early and the play calling was all about giving guys a look. Here is the question I got answered tonight, Landry can't throw the fade and Coates can't fight for it without Brown and Wheaton drawing coverage off.

He demanded a trade from the Rams with a rookie QB at the helm. He's sure as hell not coming to a team led by Ben Roethlisberger.

Unless I missed something, Foles didn't get the trade he wanted and then was released. He was a free agent. Nobody signed him for a while until the Chiefs picked him up...as a backup to Alex Smith. I think his agent would have been happier with him being backup to an injury-prone 13-year-vet than Alex Smith.

He's not the best by a long shot... but not as bad as some Steelers fans make him out to be. I've seen many posts here wanting Steelers to trade Pouncey for an average starting CB.

i can't wait until the rebuild is done with this team and we can have our starters and backups only having to be on the field for one play per series. all culminating in TD's on every play. it's coming soon hang in there. ;)

I don't really care if the Steelers win any preseason games. To win the preseason is to make it through 4 games without losing any valuable players to the IR.

He wants to start, that won't happen for years here. Alex Smith is no Ben, he'd never take the job from Ben.

b/u is insurance if the starter goes down
then the backup becomes the starter
    there's a 50/50 chance ben goes down
which makes it a 50/50 chance the back up becomes starter

Damn don't put it like that , is very scary with the 2 options we have behind Ben ..Here is a list go ahead and bring in Armanti Edwards he was never really given a chance to play QB in the NFL ,but hey he might be able to ..

Call Carolina and try and trade for Joe Webb he has looked pretty good when he gets a chance and at least he brings a lot to the ST'S unit ....

Hope that GB cuts Marquise Williams he is going to be a good NFL QB...

My 4th . guy would be Cardale Jones at this point if he gets cut..

Every QB wants to start. He's not going to start in KC, either--it wouldn't appear. Ben's injury problems (a little better until 2015) always make the backup QB role an important one.

All I'm saying is that the Steelers' backup QB is a mess, and a really solid QB was out there, and it didn't appear the Steelers even made a move toward him. They let KC do it. Perhaps Colbert was of the same mindset you have: "no way he's coming here." And maybe that's true. But the Steelers may be leaving themselves in a mess if (when???) Ben goes down, and it's a shame, because Foles was available to fill those shoes.

For all we know, KC did reach out and it wasn't a fit.

Not exactly what Foles has in mind, spot starting duty.
