Does Trent Richardson have the distinction of being the only player the clowns Front Office has ever been right about? I mean they did let him go when everyone seem to think that was an incredibly stupid thing to do. What is it with this guy? Is he just lazy or what? He was cut by the rats now too. I even read the other day that some NFL player said he thought he would get it together and be a Future Hall of Famer. Yeah...right... I guess Manziel will too...

Are you kidding? The Cowboys pick up Manziel, Richardson and Mike Wallace, get Ryan Leaf as their offensive coordinator and the Super bowls will pour in! All of them become 1st ballot HOFers and rewrite all the record books!! Write it in sand!

    Oops, forgot the green font!

"I'm not overwhelmed with it," Jim Brown said of the prospect that his former team, the Cleveland Browns, could select Richardson. "The problem is that he's ordinary. I think he's ordinary."

    Good call.

Talent is enough to succeed in college. NFL is a whole other animal. Have to work hard and hone your craft because you are competing against the best week in and week out. Lazy people tend to fizzle out in the NFL.

I totally agree. That's why I can't really get in to college anymore because I just don't feel like I'm watching "the best of the best". In the NFL I feel like I am for sure.

Do you know how much money he is owed? Is he still owed money by the clowns?

On April 21, Tom Pelissero of USA Today reported Richardson signed a one-year contract with the Ravens worth $675,000 with $0 guaranteed. He is not counting towards the Browns salary cap so I am guessing that they are done with him financially.

Not that I really care about the guy, but to answer an earlier question, I read that some of his "friends" and "family" squandered about 1.6 million of his former earnings, and he knows he probably has no chance of recovering it...
I don`t recall the source, but I remember thinking it came from a fairly legit source, like Yahoo news, CBS Sports, ESPN, or sumthin like that, and he still wants to play, but knows his chances are limited...

I agree, probably the best personell decision the Clowns have made, since they`ve been back(other than drafting him in the first place...) was trading him to Indy..

I forget exactly, but I think they got at LEAST a 3d round draft pick for him, probably more, I don`t recall...

Most fans thought they were crazy, at the time... For once, they were proved to be right...

    GO STEELERS!

Tell CBS, NFL Scouts and the SEC this considering said conference is "NFL Jr." Like such a concept exists. There is no pro game jr. of anything. Its Pro league or something else for a reason.

Oh man you aint telling me nothing. I live in the heart of SEC country here in east TN and it is ridiculous how many people down here think that college football is actually comparable to the pros. People who are actually diehard pro fans know MUCH better than that but you will never convince these people that down here. I'm always like "If Saban is such a genius then why did he suck so bad in the NFL?" and "If Kiffin is such a genius why did he suck so bad in Oakland?" They're like "Oh he's such an offensive genius!" and I'm like "Uh... in college they think you're a genius if you can run more than just the option". I hate to be a hater but that's just the reality. When people say that Saban is a great football mind I always tell them I can think of at least 32 that are better. LOL!

The only real reason behind Saban's and Kiffins success relies on five key points of emphasis:

1.) Talent stockpiling of obtaining multiple 5 and 4 star talent due to sustained success in the form of bowl appearance and an illogical amount of talent in the deep south.

2.) Destruction of high school athletes and reconstruction of them as "NFL Ready" athletes using pro schemes.

3.) A perception bias in the fact that the SEC is the most battle-hardend conference even though the B1G Ten and the PAC-12 have more HOF inductees and have been on the upswing in recent years (this is not even accounting for Ohio State either).

4.) Absolute control of the recruitment process, team staff (see Brian Kelly's legendary shove of a assistant coach) training regimen, and disciplinary actio .

5.) Money (duh). Self explanatory. One side note though. If FSU goes to Big 12 like some are hinting, expect Saban's contract to inflate given the magnitude of said event and further increased indirect competition.

These five things help powerhouse teams like Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss and even Miss. St. and Texas A&M have a ludicrous and sometimes OP amount of talent
that even Stanford, Clemson and even Ohio State cannot even say the same for their conferences.

Then again.. blame the lack of interest and spending power on the Northeastern and Pacificwest based high school teams than in the south; the latter two enjoy it whereas the South worships it.

The thing I find funny about college football is that pretty much EVERY time a program starts just absolutely dominating it always winds up coming out that they've been doing some really dubious stuff. I mean USC, Miami, and Ohio State are just a few that have been busted for stuff. That basically speaks to your last point. I've said before that down here people act like the media hates the SEC and are "out to get them" and they only love the Big 10. The conspiracy theories that you hear from all the UT fans are hilarious actually.

Hey also what is the deal with Saban being ticked about the Satellite Camp stuff? Why does he even care?

Refer to points 1 and 5 of my post.

Better yet.. pay attention to how Jim Harbaugh has performed vs. the media.

UT fans humor me more about the accusations then their "return to dominamce"; LSU and Ole Miss doubly so.
