According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Gradkowski has a "sizable hamstring tear".

That's a shame - a pink slip would have been much more painless for all concerned. Now I'm thinking Ben looks more and more awesome wearing headsets (in pre-season of course).

That happened faster than I thought. He is out there, though.

Qb's and corners scouting has been a problem for awhile now. Charlie batch was the ultimate backup. We kept Ike way past his prime. I mean, we have had years to replace these guys.
Granny kowski...should've never been brought back. Landry Jones should've been cut as soon as the season was over. He's not even a serviceable backup
For all you college guru's...is the someone out there that was a good qb in college who didn't get drafted...that was overlooked?

I read the article where Grad said he "heard a pop", so was expecting this at the least. Time for Jones to put his big boy pants on and stop being such a slow learner.

Not sold on Vaughn. I'd get another guy in the compete for the 3rd job. Landry wins back up job by default. Also with Tomlin, I wouldn't rule out Vick coming back, that's his boy.

If Jones has not learned by now, he never will. I don't think learning is the problem I don't think he has the talent. We mention several times in the off season the team should do something about the backup QB's situation, now the better ones are all on teams. The only thing we could do now is wait for the QB cuts to happen and possibly pick someone up.

This makes us all nervious wrecks everytime Ben goes back to pass because he can't get hurt. We'll go a far as Ben takes us.

How about Tavaris Jackson? It was reported a few weeks ago that he is not being charged with the gun incident, so unless he is suspended, he would be available. I would take him over Landry I think.

I get it, he's from Pittsburgh but time to let the dude go. Landry Jones doesn't look ready either. You already know Ben is going to miss a few games. Why aren't they trying to find a reliable back-up right now!?

We need to find a camp arm to compete with Vaughan. Maybe it is Vick time again. Idk. We're screwed if we're down to the third string for more than a game anyways... Sucks for Gradkowski. Feel bad for him.

While I think we can improve on Gradkowski I hate this for him and the Steelers.

There are two ways for Bruce Gradkowski to hurt the Steelers. He can either play for the Raiders or he can play for the Steelers. Other than that he is maybe the most harmless qb in the league.
