Bouchette has him as starting in the slot come the regular season. Said in will be between him and Coates and will probably be a situantional rotation between the two of them.

 

I'm sorry for being this way but for about the last 10 years every time I hear of a guy tearing it up in camp I can only think of one name and that name is Limas Sweed. I'm such a cynic. LOL!

 

Sweed never looked good in camp and there were reports of his drops almost immediately. This kid was showing stuff last year before he got hurt. Too many coaches and players are talking about him for there to be nothing there.

 

Well back in the day I got my Steeler news from their official site and everything on there is basically a puff piece. That's why I was saying that.

2 AB's are better than one.

 

I really like his College tape he seems to have a nose for the soft spots on the field ..I also like his blocking he flat out pancaked a few guys on returns and WR screens ..Another thing that I really like is his ability to make the initial guy miss ...As AB said Football is 70% mental and how you prepare and what your willing to do to get ready to play..I think Rogers has checked all the boxes getting himself ready to play, he stated he watched game tape after game tape after game tape so he could learn about different defenses and different coverages while he was out last year ...He also said he stayed in the playbook the entire year and knows the concepts very well...

It is no surprise he is having a great camp and I hope he builds on that in the Stadiums ...Here is some College Tape to enjoy ..

 

His change of direction in small spaces is pretty good watching that tape. Look at the play around 4:39. Dirty dirty. It'll be interesting to see what he does. If he replicates that in the regular season than seriously, our luck or whatever it is with WR is just ridiculous. We'll be trading off our 6th WR for JJ Watt types at this rate. Haha.

This dude is THE consummate slot receiver. I'm excited about this kid. We caught a nice glimpse of him last night. Good hands and a demon in open space. Can't wait to see him on the field with Ben under center working underneath routes while the outside guys clear out the field. Zoom zoom!

 

No problem and if Coates continues to have ball security issues then we will really need Eli in the slot a bunch...I like Wheaton a lot as a outside WR ,but not much at all from the slot ..If Coates continues to struggle we may have to mix AB in the slot with Rogers and let Wheaton and DHB play the outside WR'S ...

I would like for Wheaton to work wide left as he would probably draw a lot of single coverage...Let Rogers play inside left as he could work back across the middle and come running into Ben's vision..Let AB play slot right as he would always be in Ben's vision and could work the middle ,seam, outside and deep outside on wheel routes and flag routes and simple out routes...I like DHB outside right because he can make good blocks for Rogers and Brown after the catch, he can also stretch the FS towards the sideline and deeper to create space for Rogers and AB ..here is my first favorite route combo

If they are in Single High Safety as this shows he is in no mans land as both outside WR'S are basically 1 on 1 he has to respect the crosser..Again if you hit AB or Rogers then you have DHB pilling back to block ...Just 1 concept I really like from this look ..
