Rumored Leak: Steelers To Wear All-Black Uniforms For Color Rush Game Against Colts

If you believe a supposed leak currently making the rounds on Twitter concerning the Nike “Color Rush” uniforms each team will wear during the 2016 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will apparently wear all-black in their Thanksgiving night road game against the Indianapolis Colts.

It should be noted that while the league and the Steelers have yet to confirm the all-black uniforms, team president Art Rooney II said several months ago that all-black would be one of the two options depending on what the Colts ultimately decided to choose being as they will be the home team.

“We had our options,” said Rooney. “We had some presentations from Nike in terms of what the options were, and we decided our color-option was going to be black, and the default option is going to be white,” Rooney told Bob Labriola of steelers.com during an April interview. “When you’re the road team, the home team gets to decide what it’s wearing. If for some reason the Colts would decide to wear white, we would wear black. We just felt black was more of our predominant color (than gold).”

I hate the color rush jersey. They need to scrap it.

*well, technically black is all colors, but you get the idea.

And I see the Bills-Jets game won't be getting the same colors as last year. Damn.

Intimidating for sure, just like the dynasty years when they intimidated so many
of the teams they played. It was like men playing with boys. God I miss those days.

 

Wouldn't the Steelers have to wear all white or all yellow (gold)? Colts are the home team and would probably go all blue. Royal Blue and Black would not contrast well together.... I'd feel bad for all the colorblind people watching.

Color rush games are fine for VA Tech and Oregon... but keep that crap in the NCAA.

 

I hate to be that guy but I believe its white that is all colors. Black is the absence of all colors.

That's a good question. I glossed over it the few times that I looked at this chart. Maybe they figured red will play predominantly after Stafford gets killed by his offensive line?

 

I believe "clear" is the absence of color term you are looking for - and BTW - my favorite color!

I had heard either all black or all white. I think all black would be really cool.
