Dumb. Comparing a 12-year career to a 2-year career? Apples and oranges (or grapes, better).

Shazier might not miss another game over the next decade.

What's next? To break down the ratio of games missed by Senquez Golson compared to Ike Taylor?

Shazier is a dynamite player but like Troy, I am not sure of his durability?

It is enough to raise durability concerns. But I do generally agree that there needs to some slack. Sometimes you just get injured.

Comparison aside, is there anyone who can honestly say they are not concerned with his durability? Pouncey as well?

Shazier played in 9 games and started 5 games in 2014 his rookie season, he then started 12 games last year 2015, his durability isn't in question in my opinion, it isn't unusual for a rookie player to be injured more in his first year than they are in their following seasons when they are better prepared from a mental and physical stand point................

Perhaps, then, we should delete this thread and also ask BTSC to remove their article. After all, they're comparing the 12 year career of a safety to that of a LB's 2 year career. Blasphemy!!

I confess that, yes, I am concerned about the durability of both players. Le'Veon too. But showing how Le'Veon missed a higher percentage of games in his first three seasons than Franco Harris did in his career doesn't prove anything.

    No. It doesn't.

Le'Veon could go the rest of his career without ever missing another game and then what would an injury-plagued first few seasons have meant? Nothing more than just that. An injury-plagued first few seasons.

This is off topic but this is my two cents on Bell:
Is starting 13 games his rookie year 2013, and then starting 16 games in 2014 an injury plagued first few seasons, he played in 6 games last year before his ACL tear which is a risk in any game to any player, but injury plagued seasons doesn't apply to him, the biggest knock on bell is he didnt make the playoffs in 2014 after we won the division, but dont forget he was the biggest reason we won the division that year and he played in every game that year and was injured with a hyper X knee in the last reg season game, people act like it was his fault for missing the playoff game we lost, but an injury is just part of the game and somtimes it happens at the most in opportune times..............

You never did throw a question mark in there so I don't know how to answer it.

If your question mark is supposed to come after, "Is starting 13 games his rookie year 2013, and then starting 16 games in 2014 an injury plagued first few seasons(?)" then I would have to argue that you conveeeeeeniently left off his missing over half the season in 2015 so most would probably suggest, yeah, that would qualify as an injury-plagued start to one's career. He missed the first few games his rookie season to injury, missed the playoff game his second season, and missed over half the season in the third season. You did mention those other things and, all things considered, I think most would deem that worthy of an 'injury-plagued' designation. After all, he's three-for-three in seasons in which he's missed time to injury. It's all subjective though, isn't it?

Yeah, he tore is ACL. That term ('ACL') scares the ship out of a lot of people. You look at somebody like Jamaal Charles. I think he kind of has a durability reputation when it comes to injuries (I stay away from him in fantasy drafts) but he's played at least 15 games in 6 of his 8 seasons in the league. Peoples' concern comes from the fact he tore his ACL in 2011 in week 2 and then tore it again in 2015 in week 5. Two (nearly) complete seasons gone. Obviously there is going to be some concern moving forward with Le'Veon about that.

Nobody is blaming Le'Veon for getting hurt. I don't think anybody "act(s) like it was his fault for missing the playoff game we lost" any more than they blame Antonio for costing us the divisional at Denver last year. It happens. I think most believe we would have won both of those games with a healthy roster but I don't think anybody is blaming them.

I was going to make a similar comment. Anybody who takes a 'Behind the Steel Curtain' article as gospel is delusional. Those aren't journalists. Those are guys like us who just created a web site and write articles about the Steelers.

Steelers Depot is the same for that matter. One of their primary contributors, Alex, used to float around several different Steelers message boards, is in college, and literally lives at home with his parents when school is out. Still, I find a lot of what they (and he, specifically) provide on that site -- in terms of content -- to be extremely insightful, well written, and valuable. I'd probably pay $9.99 a month for it.

and he could never play the game again.
so lets say he is the same as franco and shazier is the same as troy.
    that makes sense

    hell, throw me in there.
ive been hurt since high school but if i was healthy i would be compared to ben.

The only comparison between you and Ben is that I believe you both hit your heads on the hoods of Chrysler New Yorkers at high speeds.
