Yeah. I don't feel the need to check the disagree box on anyone (unless they do it to me, then I reciprocate -- because I'm petty like that). It seems kinda rude to me to give em a big red 'X.' I can hear the Family Feud 'you're an idiot' buzzer going off whenever I see it.

If you disagree with 'em, you quote em in a reply.

What I don't understand is when they (he -- trying not to single anyone out) hits the disagree button then doesn't reply and present a counter-argument. If you're going to use the disagree button, you should at least present the reason why in a response.

On second thought, I do feel there are times when the disagree button is appropriate and that's when people post things that are just so blatantly off the wall that they demand a "you're an idiot" response. Everything to do with the Stephen Jackson situation, signing Johnny Manziel (and 80%+ of the 'sign him, sign them all' threads) come to mind.

The rats have our number too. Flacco is good at the dink and dunk. It's usually the Dennis Pittas on their roster that feast off of us. Flacco is good at taking what we give him. He'll sit back there forever as we sit in a soft zone applying no pressure and then he'll check down to Rice/Forsett/whoever. He'll five and six yards his way down the field. They don't get chunks on us, they get crumbs -- but it's efficient. We always seem to lose to them when they have the ball last at the end of a tied or close game. Usually at our place, it seems.

I'd have to respectfully disagree. I like the rating system. You can agree, disagree,or other without a bunch of conflict. Unless of course you're using it to troll.

Well, there's a different aspect. Makes sense.

(although what I really wanted to do was press 'disagree' on your post to be funny but some people might take their ratings seriously so I refrained)

I don't mind. You can usually tell when someone is being an azz. If you say the world is round and they hit the disagree, then you know what's up.

I believe it's actually an oblate spheroid (a somewhat squashed sphere). ;) (just kidding on the disagree). I still have a series of very well rendered small posters from the "summer of love" that depicts "What If...." various hypothetical geometric shapes for planet Earth including the ramifications on the equator and the polar regions - such as What if the Earth were Toroidal (doughnut shaped) with dual equators (interior and exterior)and dual expansive circular polar regions with parallel longitudinal and latitudinal demarcations. I won't even try to describe the setup for a hyperbolic paraboloid - a wee bit of artificial stimulus may be required to fathom along with some Moby Grape tunes.

I agree. The rating system is there for users to enjoy, some are more liberal with it then others and then some abuse it. I'm much more selective with it. For ****s and giggles, I added up all the times I used the disagree button since July last year: 17 times. A certain user here clears that in a day. I pretty much use the system for agreeing and liking posts and just debate posts I disagree with. Hell, I'd break the button too if I hit it every time someone said something I disagree with.

I think the disagree button is best for when someone's posted a deliberately polemical statement - so in terms of how many agrees and disagrees it's basically a straw poll of who's for and against.

If you fire off a disagree at all of the posts above then the off-season around here just becomes too much like hard work.

Ok, at this point, I'm starting to disagree with myself. Well, my other self.

Edit: I just checked, You can't disagree your own post. Therefore: :this!:

We will be getting back one of the best RB'S in the NFL. We will be getting back 1 of the best Centers in the NFL as well. We also looked pretty good with our blitz packages and our front guys seemed to be getting a bit more heat . Of course we will have Brown and Ben as well as Coates so I think the Offense will be just fine...

The key to the season will be the play of the DB'S. Not only how they guard the pass , but how they tackle after the pass and how well they support the run...Basically just stop the big play and don't give up TD'S in the Redzone, If they can get that done really no reason not to be in each and every game no matter the opponent.

For me personally I sometimes am just checking in for a moment at work and don't always have the time to type out a post so I just hit the agree/disagree button.

In one of those games, it was Plaxico who gave away our offensive plays to NE. Seriously.

Oh, I was so hoping someone would ask, even if I've reported this before.

AFC Championship game in Pittsburgh. I'm sitting with my wife , brother and sister in law. The two ladies are enjoying beers and BSing, generaly not paying close attention to the game. Me, I have binoculars and am trying intently not to miss anything. About the beginning of the third quarter, the Steelers break huddle and my wife non chalauntly says "It's going to be a pass play but not to Plexico". It was and it wasn't. I dismissed it. Then she said "it's a run play". It was. Then she said "it's a pass play to Plaxico", And it was. I asked how she knew this. She said watch Plaxico when he leaves the huddle. If he walks out of the huddle, it is a run play. If he runs out of the huddle, it is a pass play, but not to him. If he runs out of the huddle rubbing his hands, it is a pass play to him. I thought she was joking. I also watched every play after that. And she was correct every play. If my wife saw this do you not thing NE who watches everything also saw it? Afterwards, players said NE knew what the Steelers plays were. Heck, my wife knew what the plays were. It wasn't rocket science. It was the moron Plaxico.

    Hmm . . .

I remember NBC pointing out how Bernie Kosar had a 'tell' with the way he lined up under center. If his foot was pointed forward it was a running play, if it was angled backwards then it was a pass play.

Really appreciate you sharing that story. I remember how H.W. said after the game, how it seemed like the Patriots knew our plays.
