Anyone that has been on the board for the past four years knows that I am a big fan of Hard Knocks and would love to see the Steelers on the show just for the sheer enjoyment of it. Typically when the subject comes up I will go after it like a heat seeking missile because HBO has me hooked with their production, the story lines, the inside looks, the narration just everything. Sadly there will be no debate this season as they already have their team picked but I do want to throw this out there.

One of the things I have enjoyed since Art II assumed day to day control has been the Steelers push to upgrade their media section, upgrades to the website, more media coverage, more videos and just more and more looks at what each player is doing and saying. They seem to be moving more into line with the times and while keeping tradition alive they are branching out and embracing social media and the internet in an effort to bring the Steelers to Steeler Nation in new and exciting ways. Here is jsut one such glimpse behind the curtain

The reason I brought up Hard Knocks is the belief by many that the cameras and demands on the players for interviews would be too disruptive to the team when focusing on getting ready for the season campaign. There is also some question about how coaches and players are perceived as opposed to how they actually act in the meeting rooms and on the field. Now I am sure the teams production crew is not as invasive as when Hard Knocks descends on training camp but it does show that for all the griping by players, coaches and fans the cameras and interviews are becoming more and more common place and many don't even think about it in terms of distractions. I hope as the season progresses they give more looks at what goes into the weekly preparation for players as well as some coaching. Maybe one day I'll get to see the Steelers on Hard Knocks not because they are forced to but because they want to.

That was pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.

    A few takeaways . . .

-Tomlin is a phenomenal speaker. Makes me wanna get in shape, get prepared, get focused.

-I'm guessing #83 is a long shot to make the 53-man roster. I'm wondering if they're going to put jersey #83 back into the rotation immediately. If 88 and 82 are in use, 83 is gonna have to be. When it's all said and done, #84 will probably be the greatest receiver in team history. I wonder if they'll retire that one.

-Some bearded ginger man looks like Chris Hoke.

Agree Thorn, I would like to see them on Hard Knocks too, but I know a lot of other fans don't due to the "distraction" element of the process. I'd love it though.

I wonder if Burns wanted #25 because that was his draft slot or just coincidence?
