This is just for fun, looking at our roster's potential and as always I encourage your comments.

If Will Monday makes the squad, I hope they play "Blue Monday" in the stadium before every punt.

    Out:
    Cashaud Lyons
    LJ Fort
    Eli Rogers
    Will Monday

    In:
    Travis Feeny
    Tyler Matakevich
    Demarcus Ayers
    Jordan Berry

Call me a sucker, but I think all picks make the 53. They had Ayers as their #1 return man in the entire draft so I think he makes it.

I think Matakevich makes it at ILB - Won't dress though.

I see Feeny as some type of OLB/Box Safety. - Won't dress though.

    See ya Mr Mike Adams!

I think Rogers makes the team he looked like the beat of the bunch when it came to rookies last year. Also I think he was the only one to get IRed instead of waived injured last year. They hung onto him for a reason.

I believe he would be best suited for being a "mack" than anything; given his current weight. Keep in mind also, some players can increase strength without losing speed. Others cannot.

I don't think Feeney is going to be an inside backer anytime soon with Timmons and Shazier. I can see him being a blitzing box safety or even a situational pass rusher.

i think we will keep an extra G/C player. either finney or hubbard in the mix.

5 d-linemen instead of 6. walton or lyons may not make it and then there is the pickup matthews to consider. i think hargraves can give us flexibility on the line.

i have a feeling we save the money on spaeth and keep grimble instead.

there is also the lb johnson that we signed.

i think dangerfield and thomas are gone. grant and davis give us safety/corner options to work with. two position flexible guys on game day.

ayers as the 5th wr and return duties.

    OFFENSE:

WR- Shakim Phillips - Not sure he is my favored to make it. I prefer someone who we can use to return punts.
OL- Add one more inside guy

    DEFENSE:

DL- C. Lyons - Not sure he makes it, but at the moment this is still a weakness IMO.
LB- L.J. Fort - Fort makes sense, but maybe Feeney pushes him. I could see Feeney maybe going PS his first year.
CB- I. Frey - I don't think he makes it and I don't think we carry 6. This spot goes for the Interior Lineman listed above. If we do, I bet it is this years version of Cockrell/Blake or a vet.
S- Jordan Dangerfield - Just don't see him staying.

    SPECIALISTS:

    K-C. Boswell
    P-W. Monday
    LS- Greg Warren

So you want to ditch Phillips, Keep Eli as WR/returner and add maybe Finney?.......... OK, I can see that.
Lyons is a 4-3 DE type of guy and I kept him only because we're thin at DL and I just don't KNOW what kind of defense we'll be running this year. Things are shifting.
Fort is a LB who I think they like and he'll be in a fight in camp with Feeney/Zumwalt. ST may be the deciding factor depending on how pre-season works out and how he preforms at ILB.

Who replaces Frey/Dangerfield? Secondary depth is weak?

OKAY.... You're a sentimental fool!!!! LOL.... I don't see Ayers beating out a healthy Rodgers. I see Feeny and Matakevich as intriguing picks. Their play is above their measurables....why? Heart? Instincts? Intellect? They are now in the Big leagues where everyone is bigger stronger faster so whatever helped them in college will need to be there in the NFL........

Zumwalt/Fort/Feeny/Tyler and and a certain offseason signee from tennessee will be in a battle for sure.

I'm not sure Eli is my WR/Return guy either, but I think the draft pick will probably be the favorite going into camp.

Lyons I'm just not sold on yet. I agree that we need another DE. I bet we look at the waiver wire pretty hard. I totally agree we need 6 though.

Fort could make it, in fact he would be my guy right now at ILB, but I think you are right it will come down to special teams.

I have no idea who replaces Frey/Dangerfield. I honestly think we will look for some vet that gets cut in camp to be our Blake or Cockrell of this year, or maybe it is another guy exactly like Cockrell that we liked that a team dumps. We'll see.

My gut feeling is telling me we got a steal in Feeney. Of all of our rookie draft picks, he and Hargrave are the ones I most wanna see play in the preseason. Hoping Matakevich makes the team too.

I will preach this until he fails at OLB, but Feeney is an ILB backup to Shazier in this defense. He needs to play in space just like Shazier does. If you put him into the role that Harrison plays or Dupree plays in this D, he will be a huge failure.

Feeney and Hargrave can make an immediate impact if they are who we think they are.

I think Feeney will be an utter failure unless they play him in space.

I'm on this side of the fence.

I think we end up with 5 of the 7 draft picks on the 53. The two that dont make this year being Matakevich and Feeney. Both to ps

But I am talking out of my ass. Lets see what actually does happen.

And then this basically happens. If Timmons is put on IR or something.., the bottom of the depth chart is rounded out with Matakevich being bumped up to the 53. If Shazier is put on IR or something (which is like, really good odds if youre a gambling man) the bottom of the depth chart is rounded out with Feeney.
