I saw a post on twitter that said Mike Adams failed a physical and was released from the team.

Yep...he's gone. I just saw it too. Wow..what a wasted pick he was. And we took him over Brock Osweiler, Kelechi Osemele and Russell Wilson. Ouch.

Win some, lose some. Glad Gilbert was at least able to turn into a good player.

I can't see that Osweiler or Wilson would have shown much in the playing time they would have been given, had we taken them.

Osemele would have been good, though.

I wonder what aspect of the physical Adams failed?

I disagree it was a wasted pick. At the time we needed OT help/depth and was looked at as a first rd talent who slipped due to issues. He ended up having feet that were too slow. Maybe it was a missed evaluation or a result of some lingering injury. It seems he was cut due to a failed physical which coinsides with him being on IR all last season.

It was a draft pick that didn't work out and that happens, alot, as its a gamble with every pick.

This pick was made when Mr Rooney was appointed ambassador of Ireland. This guy fail a drug test at the combine....and was chosen in the 2nd rd...really?! What was Colbert/Tomlin thinking?!

It was a wasted pick. On a guy who had red flags and was dropping down the board. There was a reason he was there when we selected him. But we are not going to go into a "Colbert" thing. Bad picks do happen. I just noted other players that we took Adams over. Especially Kelechi Osemele.

That's hind sight stuff, Adams was never self motivated to be a starter, even munch couldnt get in his head, he had a good scouting report before the 2012 draft, but there were red flags on his injuries and off field behavior as well, he was suspended twice at OSU but was projected a late 1st round 2nd round prospect before the draft,we are loaded at tackle now so he was expendable ..........

How's come the "all those other teams passed on him" reasoning only applies to players we take and not all the other great ones who are chosen after us?

I love when imperfect human beings demand perfection of other imperfect human beings. It's fair to say this now, and I agree, but this was a good value pick at the time.

I just remember him falling and people wondering why he wasn't taken earlier. I guess you can look at it that way as far as "value pick" is concerned. There were a few not sold on him. I wasn't excited about the pick either. But, we move on.

Nah. A wasted pick would be missing the selection and getting no one. Or taking a first round RB when you have Bell and Williams. Something like that. We needed OL talent and the kid certainly had talent. He just never panned out. Can't say it was a waste. The draft is always a crap shoot. You take a chance on young kids that you think can play. Some will make it. Some won't. Not every person that doesn't make it is a "wasted pick".

We arent alone in picking Olineman that cant cut it, the Cards picked guard johnathan Cooper with their 1st round 7th overall pick, 3 years later they just traded him and their 2 pick in this draft for the patriots edge rusher Chandler Jones, so I think the cards edged us out for making a bad pick for a lineman...

There are picks to be mad about from the instant they happen (I'm looking at you Dri Archer) but this isn't one of them. Meh. Move on.
