They are saying that the Eagles are willing to trade Darren Sproles for a fifth round pick. Wouldn't he be worth a fifth round pick to us? Thinking about him returning punts and having him available to us on third down situations. And sometimes having him on the field at the same time as Bell. I'm thinking a move like him could really give us some value for a fifth round pick. Your thoughts?

We don't have a 5th round pick this year.

Thank you Elvis. I thought we were without a sixth round pick until we got one in the compensatory process. So it was the 5th round; bummer.

    Yeah thanks Boykin!
Good thing they sat him on purpose to avoid giving up a 4th rd pick.

Darren Sproles will be 33 in June. He's making $3.5 million this year.

    You do the math.

So that's only $106,060 each year, what a bargain!!!

Studies show 4 out of 3 people are not good in math

I did the math. I came up with .857. I'm not sure what that tells me. :smiley1:

If the Steelers did have a 5th to spend in trading the Eagles they would probably sign Duce Staley at the same time and sit Sproles in place of Staley.

If they do, it better not be a conditional pick, or Sproles may never see the field again.

Nah. Pass on Sproles. I'm not convinced he would make this team any better. At least not enough to justify the price tag.

In a vacuum you're head is in the right place. I just don't think it makes sense for us.

I guess I'm the only one sick of the failed Stefan Logan, Chris Rainey, Dri Archer experiments? Where we try to sneak a little running back into the game and run some little gadget play that never, ever works? We clearly don't know how to use those guys.

    Pass.

Haley thinks that you can get just any little quick back and he can do exactly what Darren Sproles does. And he fails every time.

Hard to argue that. It's not like they found success anywhere else.

Still, my thought process is, "Why? Who do you remove from our lineup during a game to insert Sproles?" Would you rather have him in there than Le'Veon? Does anybody here think Sproles is a better third-down back than Le'Veon Bell?

He's playing on old legs now, not worth a draft pick and 3.5 million, the eagles gave him a 3 year 10.5 mill contract thats in it's last year now, so they may as well ride it out instead of trying to steal a draft pick from someone to unload an old player....
