I agree that the ND game isn't a great test based on the rainy and windy conditions and the corresponding inaccuracy of the QB.

Fuller was the best WR he went against so that's why it's brought up. The slippery conditions would benefit Fuller in terms of getting separation for sure but the ball wasn't there.

I have to say this debate has been pretty fun compared to other offseason topics haha.

I know! The funniest thing is he keeps citing a article that does't back up his claims :lolol:

I told him to reread it, he doesn't want to listen

I think the REAL bias was revealed in the comments about him being short

Not sure I would like Ogbah or Calhoun here. They have all the measurables, production (Calhoun rated #1 for pass rush by PFF), but I don't see the desire to excel/give effort all the time. I wouldn't want another Woodley. Just my take.

Not a Leonard Floyd fan for where you would have to draft him in the first. Really not impressed with Killebrew or Kearse either.

Any QB in the first 4 rounds. Not player related, but just the position.

Someone made a point about William Jackson's tackling.

His tackling is hilarious he straight up headbutts/spears receivers regularly and he is pretty big and strong.

Not like Merriweather but like Shazier on Bernard type headbutts.

The Shazier hit would be illegal under a new rule passed by the competition committee. Jackson himself admitted that tackling is something he needs to work on. And, I have seen many times where Jackson's tackling attempts were not Shazier-like spears, but rather throwing his body at a ball carrier (not illegal, but not effective either).

I'd rather Jackson than Alexander because I think he's better in off coverage and shows good zone instincts. He also has very good long term upside. However, he has things to fix before he'll be a good NFL starter.

I concur. There's things he needs to do to improve. But it's all there with him. The sky is the limit as far as what he could do and be as a player.

    Here's one I don't want
    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/2079903/andrew-billings

If you don't want to read the entire profile, here's a quote that should convince anyone that he isn't suited to play defensive end, "Lacks ideal range to consistently make plays outside the hashes."

If you are still advocating for a Casey Hampton replacement, please join the current decade.

Any defensive tackle needs to be a younger/faster/better version of Steve McClendon, who can play NT on the 25% of the time the Steelers do, and slide outside to rotate with Heyward and Tuitt. Billings, the Combine wonder and freak of nature he might be, he isn't suited to the Steelers scheme. He's a 3-4 NT, or a 4-3 T. Nowhere have I read anyone say he could play end in a 3-4.

For those that advocate the mythical 3-3-5, just look back at last season. Even when Denver was lined up in a likely run formation, and the down and distance indicated run, more than half the time the Steelers were in the Nickel. 2-4-5 is the new base, in terms of the percentage of use.

In a scenario in which all the defensive backs worth a first round pick are gone, the Steelers will draft an offensive lineman or a linebacker before a developmental project on the D-Line.

They should draft a defensive end (not in the first) and let Big Dan play NT.

Better watch yourself; you ain't talking like your living in 1992 like the mods want you too. You have to talk like everything the Steelers front office does is correct. And if you deviate from that, your an instant enemy of the empire. Then they threaten you and remind you that, " I'm the mod" blah, blah, blah.

Best to be careful on this plantation.

You can play the poor victim if you want to. That's fine. Trying to scare off new members isn't something I'm going to tolerate, though.

i disagree with the mods all the time but it doesn't mean it has to get nasty. we are talking football, no, steeler football and we are a passionate fan. the mods do a great job around here but if we can't disagree, why have a board? act like an adult and have an adult conversation about the team we are ALL rooting for. just remember, i'm always right. :drinks::smiley1::cool:

Everyone needs to just calm the F down and let cooler heads prevail....hasn't anyone been paying attention to this team the last few years? We don't need no stinking CB anyway,we already have the answer to all our secondary issues......hello? Are we forgetting DHB is on the roster? .....sheesh! :goofy:

I'll keep saying it every year and probably still won't be wrong...we aren't drafting a first round CB unless our board falls apart....but we shall see. The draft is pretty much a crap shoot anyway....

I don't want any TE or WR in any round. Also don't like Knemdeche or Spence.

Just curious, why Spence? Obvious reason for the drug history or something else?

Definitely the drugs, but for him to get booted from the Ohio State team when he's so athletically gifted makes me think he is too much trouble.

He got booted for drugs... so its just 1 issue, not 2.

Agreed. With Nkemdiche he's even admitted to being lazy at times, and I think it shows up on tape. Spence tries to wreck the opposing offense on every snap. I see no on-field flags with him at all.
