3 names that keep coming up as hands down first rounders, who finished the season injured, are Jaylon Smith, Kendall Fuller, and Karl Joseph. Each of them, before injury, was considered a lock as a first rounder, with Smith being a top 5, Fuller being the #2 corner, and Joseph being the #2 safety.

Would they still be of value at the #25 pick, with Smith missing at least half a season (but replacing Timmons next year) and being a top five value, Fuller not even being able to run at his pro day, and Joseph falling out of the first round all together?

I ask, because I keep coming up with our best first round pick being Jaylon Smith if he's still there, followed by Fuller, then Joseph. Even with the other corners (outside of Heargraves) and safeties (outside of Ramsey) still being on the board.

Truthfully, I'd be ok with either Fuller or Joseph at 25 provided their medicals check out. I'd be ecstatic if either of them fell to us in the second round. Fuller is supposedly better than his brother in Chicago. As for Joseph, I watched nearly every game of his college career and I think he will be a great pro.

The Steelers won't be drafting Smith who has nerve damage in his injured knee, he isn't likely to play in 2016. Joseph and Fuller would have to check out medically to be considered at #25.

Fuller would be a nice choice in the 2nd round, especially if we go BPA in the 1st. Joseph is worthy of a late 1st round pick in my eyes

Yeah I think that nerve damage pushes Smith out of the first, and maybe even the second round.

Some folks watch Fuller's 2015 tape, especially the Ohio State game, and get put off. The thing is, he played those first 3 games with a torn meniscus and his coach was putting him in single coverage on Michael Thomas all day in that game when he clearly couldn't change direction with any degree of fluidity. He's really not that kind of press man corner anyway. He's an instinctive off-man and zone corner. I love Fuller for what we ask our corners to do. When VT played to his strengths he played very well, and forced quite a few turnovers. His medical check will be key, because it just seems like the guy would be fine to workout now if all he had was a meniscus tear that he was able to play through.

Joseph makes me think of TJ Ward or Donte Whitner near the line of scrimmage, but with more range and coverage skills than either of those guys. Just don't watch his 2014 Texas tape. I'm not sure who was wearing his uniform that day, but it was uncharacteristically ugly. Everything else I've seen of him has been very solid.

Me me me....that was me. Fuller was my man crush very early on then I watched tape and was like wow no ty. You pointed this out to me before and to me honest I like fuller a lot more now after knowing that. With that said I am all for Fuller at 25, I think as the draft gets closer I am liking/hoping our pick comes down to Fuller, Wjax3 or Apple......

I think that Jaylen Smith will fall significantly. Maybe to the 4th round.

Ian Rappaport reporting that Kendall Fullers medical re-check went good and should be ready for camp.

I think I'd prefer Fuller over the other second tier corners just based on his pedigree alone. Chance of him flaming out are very low, IMO. Can't really say the same about Apple, Alexander, or Jax.

I like Fuller as well. The thing is, I haven't found any info suggesting that we've met with him or had him in, so he may not even be on the radar screen. Bummer.

Yeah that's pretty telling. Unless your name is Jarvis Jones they usually meet with the guy prior to drafting!

According to BTSC, JJ made an official visit to Pittsburgh. That fits my recollection. I also remember after the visit JJ saying that if he made it to pick 17 the Steelers would take him.

Oh, didn't know that, thanks. I always thought that the Steelers didn't bother scouting him because they assumed he wouldn't be available. Not sure where I read/heard that, but I've been running with it since!

I still can't find anything on Karl Joseph's recheck. There's news on other 1st round prospects like Smith, Jack, Lawson and Fuller, but I can't find out whether Joseph's knee checked out.

Monday, and I still can't find anything on Joseph's recheck at the end of last week. There's news about Jack, Smith, Lawson and Fuller, but nothing that I can find about Joseph.
