What DB's are still out there?

I think they have valid belief in Golson. I think he's going to be really good corner. They may start him out in the slot, but I think he can be a complete outside cover corner. I also think Cockrell had some really strong games when he was asked to do things in his wheel house (off man, safety help over the top). Gay remains a top notch nickel, and adequate on the outside. They need some competition. Some depth. But they are young and "on the come" (cockrell, golson, grant)

Grant, could possibly be moving to safety, and challenge Golden for snaps in the near future.

I don't think they are done with free agency, they are going to pick up some guys once rosters begin shaking out before and after the draft.

I'm not worried... yet.

 

Lets just put our tail between our legs, admit we done him wrong and signed Boykin back. Gay, Boykin, Cockrell and Golson entering the season isn't bad. At all of them have been in the system for a year.
I would still draft a top corner though but it prevents him from having the expectation of starting immediately.

 

If Boykin believes that I'm not surprised he's not signed yet.

 

Right...the Steelers were on a playoff/Super Bowl run and they didn't play him because they didn't want to give up a 4th round draft pick??

If we could make the playoffs/Super Bowl every year...I would give up our 4th round draft pick every year

 

I never saw a player so mishandled by this team as they did with Boykin, unless it was Urbik getting snubbed the way he was by never given a chance to play.....

I would agree from the viewpoint of how badly Blake was playing; however Boykin is still unsigned. So the big question is...did the Steelers really mishandle him or is Boykin really not that great of a player.

Why did they draft Sweed? Why did they draft Archer? Sometimes it works out and other times not so much. I think they panicked when Golson/Cortez Allen went down and they grabbed whoever was available.

 

Boykin wasn't a draft pick, there was NFL tape on him. Much different imo.

This is probably Boykin's last chance at a big contract he's in his prime, he will take his time to sign with a team.

 

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is "very confident" second-year CB Senquez Golson will "step in this year and be very productive."

No idea why he was in Tomlin's dog house but before coming here he was pretty good and we were a much better team when he was on the field.

 

I truly can't understand the Boykin situation, He is possibly are most talented CB on the roster.
I was so excited last year when the Steelers went out and got him and then didn't play him?
Really I don't know what is going to happen, we should cut Cortez Allen, Will Allen, Spaeth, Shamarko,
These players should be gone.Yet their still taking up roster spots.

 

Because if they did a massive blowout of dead weight like that, that's a direct indictment of bad drafting by the GM. LOL.
